Friends... family... is it all worth it when time is the cause of everything? Even when I keep on going back in time to save them, it always ends with death. Every attempt made... each having a death more gruesome than the last. There is nothing I can do in this world. I can't live... nor die. I can't smile... nor cry. I can't remember... nor forget. I finally sat down as I got shelter near the forest... full of rotten flowers and dead trees. I covered my face with my hands as I strongly felt the need to leave this horrendous life. And yet... I'm still here, even with explosions and other terrors happening everywhere.
My life in this cursed universe is timeless.
"I'm alone... again." I breathed out while drawing some normal people on the sand... and then swiped it away with my bloody palms.
Should I feel lonely just because I am the only one being in this world full of bloodshed and useless moments? What if there was another human besides me? That assumption was very foolish to think at first...
"Hello? Can you hear me?"
Until I saw him.
"I'm... Titha." He offered to shake hands. He was wearing gloves. I wonder where he got them. My hand was accepting the offer, but my second thoughts were getting the best of me. What should I do?
I slowly put down my hand and got up abruptly. I removed the dust on my skirt, feeling the eyes of this Titha staring at me. I was tempted to poke his eyes out... but then I'm just probably being conscious. I don't want to cause any misunderstandings... not anymore, at least.
"Just..." I finally spoke as I took my eyes off the wretched ground. "call me 'Timeless'. That's the meaning of my name after all..."
I then heard a giggle from him. I finally got the confidence to look at him directly and saw him grinning. I scratched my head in confusion as a phrase about him came out of my mind...
He seems weird.
He was the same age as me, but he looked younger than the average 14-year-old boys. He's quiet, which kind of makes him mysterious. He looks beaten up, but he still has the eyes full of determination. We were quite friends after some actual talking, but that's just about it. He seemed unusual at first glance, and I guess the reason why I made friends with him was because I was alone for so long. But for some reason, he makes me feel curious of who—or what—he really is. I then glanced at Titha. As we met eye contact, that's when I actually looked away, my face burning up.
Because of him, lots of questions were running in my head: where was he from? What is he doing here? How is he here? Who is he? What really is he? There was one question that was also in my head, but it was making my head ache once I illustrate it for too long. It really does creep me out.
A few days has passed ever since... but I just cannot get over that one question.
He really did make me suspicious... And I was right to assume that.
When death calls me, he was always by my side. He was the person whom I have vowed to never forget, but...
"Hey, Timeless..."
"Yeah?"
"How does..."
"...?"
"How does it feel like to live in a loop where there's no future?"
That was what he said one day.
I was so speechless. It came to my realization that... It answered most of my questions. I fell backwards in shock as I was still trying to process the situation that's happening. What if... he knew that all this time, I was living in this same reality for every four weeks?! I don't know what to think, and I don't know why, but this Titha, the person I made friends with recently, seems somehow... dangerous!
