Who knew a homeroom class would make me want so bad to change schools. It's the first day of high school and I walk into class and who do I see sitting right next to each other? Chloe had wedged herself into the seat right next to Adrian. Nino is leaning over the desk urging her to move. Sabrina tries to cut in but her complaints are completely unheard. Adrian just sits quietly with an annoyed expression on his face.
Adrian looks up and meets my eyes as I walk in. His face lights up and he pushes himself up on his forearms, "Hey, Mari! Nice to know things never change."Me, Adrian, Nino, Alya, Chloe, and Sabrina have been in the same class ever since Adrian joined our class so many years ago.
I can't help but blush as I brush my long blue-black hair out of my face, "Hey, Adrian."
Alya runs up throwing her arms around me, "hey girl, long time no see!" She pulls away and right away I see the absence of her signature glasses and a section of her hair shaved off on the left side of her head. "Contacts," she said when she saw the quizzical look on my face.
Nino wraps his arms around Alya's waist placing his head on her shoulder, "honestly I miss the glasses but you always look beautiful." Alya gives a little giggle leaning back into him.
The teacher walks into the room with long strides. He wears a grey jacket the same dark grey color as his hair. His nose comes to a pointed hook at the end of his etched face. He slumps down into his seat pushing his glasses over the ruff ridge of his nose. "Everyone take your seats," he rumbles with his hoarse voice.
Everyone scrambled to their seats. Me and Alya sit behind Adrian and Chloe, Nino takes his place next to Alya. Sabrina slips into the seat next to Chloe as the teacher looks everyone over for roll. "Has anyone seen, Luka.?" The second I hear his name my heart flutters.
"I'm right here Mr.Carian, sorry I'm late I had to help my mom with some chores." Luka walks in through the door. His blue and black hair perfectly frames his beautiful face. His blue eyes match the vibrant blue of his hair. He has his guitar case thrown over his shoulders and his hands in the pockets of his ripped jeans.
Nino and Alya scoot over a seat leaving one open next to me. "Don't be late again, and take a seat next to," he pauses as he looks over the class, "right next to Marinette." Luka looks over to me giving me a kind smile and a wave. Then walks over to sit next to me.
"This will be the first time we are in the same class I think." Luka says as he slips off his guitar case.
I stutter a response, "y-y-yeah, I guesss it is."
"W-w-well this will be great," he laughs and I can't help but feel embarrassed. Luka seems to notice my embarrassment and places a hand on my desk, "hey, I'm sorry."
I look up at him, "it's fine don't worry about it, I-I just..." I let my hair fall into my face.
"You're nervous, that's normal for the first day of school. Honestly I'm a little nervous too, a new teacher and a new class. There are going to be a lot of firsts today, but I'm sure we'll make it through." He smiles brightly at me. I can't help but smile back. I tie my hair back out of my face as I try to calm myself down.
Adrian turns around and looks at me, "What's there to be worried about anyways Mari. You have all your friends to help you out, we'll do this together." Adrian's hair is a little shorter than last I saw him, but his smile is just as bright. I can't help but look around and see all my friends smiling at me. Seeing this I'm sure that everything will be alright.
...
My first class of the day is English. Sabrina, Nino, and Adrian are all in this class with me, along with Rose and Ivan. The teacher is really nice, her name is Ms. Marina. She has small blue eyes and orange hair. Her lips are thin but her smile is huge.
