A tale of three girls

Chapter one:New friends

Hello lovlies, I am angie your local crappy author, XD I love Hunter X Hunter so yeah I decided to make this, i hope you like it! <3 ;)

Angela walked silently on her way to the exam site, she had a book in her hand, another one in her bag. The purple haired girl loved to read, her favorites include 'To Kill a mockingbird and Macbeth'. There was no specific reason that she would tell, on why she was taking the exam, but she was. She looked around trying to get more information from the locals here, they all lied and she could tell that.
She could kill all of them in one single throw of her daggers but she refrained herself, she was trying to get out of her sadistic tendencies. She overheard a conversation going on between a small boy with spiky black hair and a captain of the ship. She thought to herself 'hmmm~ looks like I will just follow this boy then' without her knowing while she was distracted gon ran in front of her.
"Hello I'm gon!!!" He said so excitedly "what's your name???!!"
Angela's eyes widened when she saw the small spiky haired boy in front of her who she knew know as gon.
"Ummmm...hi gon, I'm Angela, Angela Angels...you can just call me angel..." her voice showed as if she wasn't experienced with talking to other human beings.
Gon smiled wide "Well hello Angel! Would you like to go with me and my friends to exam site?"
Angela reluctantly nodded and gave gon a forced smile, anyone who knew her well or could read people  could tell it was fake. The girl in herself had never well felt true joy or happiness, sure she had moments or glimpses of happiness but they were rare and very short.
Gon grinned ear to ear showing he was glad the girl
Would come along for the adventure. Gon met up with leorio and kurapika with Angela behind Gon. The girl usually managed to keep a happy exterior but If anyone focused into her eyes for too long they could see her pain, her suffering, all of the things she's been through.
Kurapika greeted the new girl with his usual polite manners "Hello, it's nice to meet you" he smiled wide and looked into her purple orbs with his own black orbs. She looked away blushing a bit, what? She hasn't had much contact with cute boys her age, she couldn't help it.
Leorio smirked looking at the two interact, Angela turned to leorio her face still a bit pink, she cleared her throat "Ahem...hello...I'm Angela..."
leorio modded "Hello Angela, I am leorio, I see you've become acquainted with kurapika..." he grinned wide and danced his eyebrows seeming to suggest something.
Angela's eyes grew wide and she became even more pink, kurapika wasn't watching that whole scene but looking at the book her hand, along with her hidden weapons and her backpack.
Gon started to walk while shouting "Come on we should get going now!!!"
Angela nodded and began to walk, leorio stood behind kurapika, kurapika ran up so that he was even with Angela.
Angela looked over at kurapika smiling wide, a genuine smile this time, it was new for her, but she enjoyed this feeling. She hasn't felt this since her mother died so long ago.
Kurapika looked at Angela "Is there something wrong?" He asked because she was staring a bit.
Angela shook her head "I'm sorry, I'm usually not around this many people, it's a little overwhelming..." she looked behind her at leorio then ahead of her at gon.
Kurapika chucked a bit "Oh no no it's no problem, say Angela why are you taking the exam?"
Angelas eyes widened, she didn't think anyone was going to actually ask this "O-oh u-" she was about to answer him when she heard he name being yelled from afar.
"ANGELA!!!" Screamed a girl with long blonde hair up in a ponytail with her bangs out, her name is Athena, her and Angela were good friends who haven't seen each other in a while.
Angela suddenly stopped hearing the voice, she knew that voice from somewhere...oh my Athena!!! She spun around seeing her friend, she grinned wide then ran over to her attacking her in a hug. "ATHENA!!!!" Athena laughed and hugged the girl back.
Gon, kurapika, and leorio were very very confused at what was going on. "Ummm?" Kurapika said, leorio just simply shrugged, Gon laughed "I think they knew each other before this day..."
Angela pulled away from the hug and waved all of the boys over "Sorry Guys, this is my old friend, Athena, she helped get me get out of a troubling situation around a year ago, she's a good friend of mine, we haven't seen each other in a while..." she turned to Athena "This is Gon, kurapika, and leorio" she said while pointing to each of the boys when she said their names.
Athena simply smiled and waved at each of the boys while smiling a bit more "Hello, I trust you've taken care of her?" Her voice didn't sound threatening but it didn't sound soft, just stern.
Angela laughed "Athena, you know I can take care of myself..."
Leorio was kind of staring Athena with his mouth open, Angela raised an eyebrow at leorio along with Athena.
Kurapika sighed and closed leorios mouth for him "You are staring, my friend..." kurapika laughed and Angela did as well. Kurapika walked over putting his hand on Angelas shoulder, Athena raised a brow while smirking. Angela was a pink color once more.
Kurapika tilted his head in confusion "You okay Angela? You're pink again..." Angela just nodded and looked down.
Athena giggled a bit "How adorable"
Angelas eyes widened "Shut up Athena!!!"
Athena snickered "I assume you all are going to take the hunger exam correct?"
All of them nodded at the same time and gon with his usual cheerful self jumped in front of Athena causing her to jump "Hi!!! Athena!!! I'm gon!!! Want to come with us???!!"
"Um sure?" Athena said while laughing a bit, gon ran in front of the group leading, Angela and Kurapika were in a conversation, that left Athena and leorio.
Athena walked next to him smiling "Well hello leorio, what are you taking the exam for?" She asked this why with much curiosity in her voice.
Leorio simply replied with, "Money"
Athena raised a brow at him "Oh..."
Leorio sighed "The world revolves around money, my friend a long time ago got sick a doctor said he would treat him but for a price, so he died...what about you?"
Athena looked up and sighed "Oh...I want to help support my mom...she's always been there for me...so now I'm going to support her." She smiled wide then looked back at leorio.
Leorio modded grinning a bit "That's very admirable of you." They walked In silence for the rest of the time.
"So, angela are you going to answer my question or not?" Kurapika asked while continuing to follow gon.
Angela sighed "It's not a very good reason, i also told myself i wouldn't tell anyone, but
I find myself trusting you...i needed a way to get away from my father...a way to escape him...with being a hunter I can put him into a prison for all he's done..." she looked away hoping they wouldn't think less of her.
"Wow...he must have done some pretty messed up things for you to want to lock him away forever...I'm sorry...would you mind telling me? You don't have to if it's too painful." Kurapika said with his usual soft smile and voice.
Angela trusted him, she didn't know why, but she did, she didn't trust many people, only a select few. "no no it's fine, he made me do things, kill for him, he would abuse me, torture me, do things that no one should ever do to another human being. He also killed my mother and sister along with the rest of my family." She exhaled, it felt good to her to get all of that off her chest.
Kurapikas eyes widened "Well then...I will help you lock him away, I am doing this for revenge, a long time ago a group called the phantom troupe killed my clan and stole their eyes, I am the only one left." Kurapikas eyes started to turn into that scarlet color from him talking about it, but he calmed down and they changed back.
Angela grew stiff once she heard the words 'phantom troupe' she knew them. She was actually kind of a part of them, a while back the leader Chrollo asked her to heal one of the members so that they wouldn't die. Angela was used for her ability because it was healing, she could heal any wound or sickness, sometimes she could prevent death, but it came at a cost, extensive training and pain.
Kurapika stayed quiet the whole rest of the walk along with Angela. Behind them, leorio and Athena walked in silence as well, it seemed all of them were thinking about their reasons for being here.
Gon stopped in front of an old woman surrounded by other people. The others came about seconds later stopping as well.
Angela crossed her arms "Hmmm...what's going on here?" She said in interest in her voice.
Gon tilted her head with his cute little innocent face, leorio sighed, Kurapika kept quiet, Athena walked to where she was next to Angela. She whispered into her ear "This has to be a test" Angela nodded in agreement.
The old woman spoke "I shall administer a single question quiz. You'll have five seconds to state your answer."
Leorio being the usual idiot he is just kept yelling "What's going on here??!!"
Athena smacked him upside the head "Just Shut up and listen you hard headed child.." she growled at him.
Angela snickered off to the side along with Kurapika, gon was just dumbfounded and confused.
The old woman spoke again "Give the wrong answer then you will be disqualified, you will  have to give up this years hunter exam."
Kurapika kept his calm exterior "I see, then this is apart of the exam?"
"I just so happen to be a quiz expert" leorio boasted "Wait only one question??!!!"
Angela was just staying quiet trying to figure out what was going on.
Athena listened close to what the old woman said next "Your answer with either be one or two, any other answer will be considered incorrect.
Gon with his usual cheeeful self exclaimed "Look on the bright side, since there are five of us it will be much easier to fine the right answer because only one of us will have to answer! I am not good at quizzes..."
They heard a male voice behind them "I will take the quiz first."
Angela noticed him way before everyone else and was keeping a close eyes on him before he spoke, Athena jumped back once she heard the voice, 'what the hell'
Gon smiled "I'm okay with it"
Kurapika "No objections here"
Leorio just nodded
Athena nodded as well
Angela sighed "Fine..."
the old woman spoke again "Here is your question, evil villains have captured your mother and your lover, you can only save one, select one for your mother or two for your lover"
The male spoke "I choose one because I only have one mother I cannot get another one, I can always find another lover." He explained.
The old woman said simply "You pass"
The male smirked "You just have to tell the old woman what she wants to hear" he then walked off. Angela scoffed "What an idiot, such an amateur, this is an obvious answer..." she said this soft so no one could hear her.
Athena knew what the answer was, along with Kurapika but leorio just kept yelling.
The old woman spoke again "The cat eyed boy, the purple haired girl and the blonde girl may no longer speak." Athena, Angela and Kurapika all groaned mentally,
"Here is your question. Your son and daughter have been kidnapped, you can only rescue one, select one for your daughter or two for your son." The old woman said.
Angela, athena and Kurapika kept quiet knowing the answer, gon was deep in thought so he was quiet as well. Leorio stayed quiet trying to think hard, the woman spoke again "Time up!" Leorio jumped up in the air and tried to hit the old woman but Angela blocked him quickly drawing her daggers.
"Get out of my way Angela!!!" Leorio screamed
"Shut up or you'll waste our correct response!!! Silence is the right answer you dummy!!!" Angela snapped back at him. She turned to the old woman "Am I correct?" The old woman smiled "Precisely, the correct path is over here, this path will lead you directly to the tree. Walk two hours to reach the top, a couple lives in the cabin, they serve as navigators, if you meet their standards they will take you to the exam site."
Angela listened close by while Athena was trying to get gon to snap out of his thinking state. Athena  groaned then just picked up gon carrying him to where the others were walking.
Gon whined "I couldn't find the answer"
All of them shook their heads and Athena spoke "Gon don't worry about it we're going to the tree now..."
Gon had a very confused look on his face "Oh...Okay!!! He said excitedly.
Angela walked next to Kurapika in the front while Athena leorio and gon trailed behind, "What a cute couple they would make." Athena whispered to leorio and gon. Leorio nodded in agreement and Athena giggled.
"It's totally dark out" Leorio whined, he just kept going on while complaining  about all the walking.
Angela was growing quite agitated "Shut up before I cut your tongue out!!!"
Kurapika smiled "Look I see the cabin!" Angela sighed and dragged leorio by his ear, Athena following behind.
They arrived at the cabin, they all gasped, there was a magical beast that Injured a man, and had a woman.
Kurapika spoke "Leorio stay here and tend to the man, Angela stay here as well, gon and Athena come with me after the beast."
The beast ran, gon, athena, and Kurapika ran after it.
Angela knelt down next to the man "I can heal him..." she focused her nen into her hands "Deep violet ashes!" All his wounds were healed almost instantly, leorio gasped "H-how did you do that??!!" Angela shrugged "I'll explain later..."
The beast let go of the woman and gon chased after it, Athena conjured her bows and arrows out of thin air, making Kurapika surprised also very confused. "How???!!" He asked, Athena sighed "I'll explain later!" She strung her arrows on her bow then aimed it at the creature but she missed, "Damn...I never miss..."
Kurapika found the woman's tattoo and grew suspicious, gon found out there were two of the creatures.
"You all pass!" They explained "Gon with figuring out there were two of us! Kurapika with using your knowledge to find something wasn't right, leorio for willing to use all your medical supplies, Angela for your extensive nen powers, Athena for you skills in weapons! We will take you all to the hunter exam site!"
All of them smiled, the creatures flew them to the site, but what was in store for them now that the actual exam would begin? What were those weird abilities Angela and Athena had?
