Chapter 1

                                    Kaya's POV

I was so nervous. I didn't even want to eat. I started poking my cereal with my spoon and started thinking about school. My mother, Lesa, looked at me worryingly. "Kaya, school will be fine! Besides your childhood friend, Kai, will be there. That certainly sparked a memory. My mother and Kai's mother, Maya, did everything together and eventually, when me and Kai were born, we also did everything together. But then we had to move. My mom wouldn't tell me why, but now I'm back here so, I guess that were fine, or at least I'm fine. "Kaya" My mother said, waving a hand in front of my face. I snapped back to reality and shook my head. "Sorry, mom. Just thinking about what school is going to be like. " "It's going to be fine! Stop worrying about it!" My mother said while getting up. I sighed and went to my room. I fell on my bed and looked up at the ceiling. I closed my eyes and sighed, and soon fell asleep.

Kai's POV

"Hey guys!" I said waving to Jay, Zane, Lloyd, and Cole. Nya ran to Jay and hugged and kissed him while Jay put his arm around her. "So how was your summer break?" Nya asked everybody. "Great!" Everyone said. "Did you hear that there's gonna be a new kid?" Zane asked us. "Yeah, but I don't know who it is, but I bet that you know!" I said smirking. "Of course I do! It's a girl named Kaya Brooks!" Zane said smiling. I looked at Nya and Nya smiled mischievously at me. I blushed and looked away. 'Well, it looks you know her, eh?" Cole said smiling and elbowing me. "Yeah, she was Kai's childhood friend, but then they had to move for some reason, but I guess nw they are back!" Nya said while smiling. "I remember that when they left, Kai wouldn't come out of his room because he missed her so much!!" Nya giggled. "Whoo! Talk about girls huh!" Jay said winking at me. "Wh- Whatever!" I said blushing more. Everyone was laughing now. "C'mon! Let's go to the Park!" Lloyd said, already running there.

The Next Day

Kaya's POV

I got up early and got my bookbag ready. I looked outside to see what it was like and, yep, it was raining. I groaned and rolled my eyes. Yep, Mom's driving me today. I thought to myself. I opened my eyes to see my mom coming down the stairs and said good morning to me. "Hey, I'm gonna need you to take me to school today, It's raining pretty hard." I said while saying hi. "Sure!" she said.

10 minute time skip

Kai's POV

As I walked to school, I went to my new locker which was by the lunch room. I heard someone sigh right next to me. It was a girl. I guess she caught me staring at her and she said "Hey, I'm Kaya Brooks." She said while looking at me. No way. "I'm Kai Smith." I said. "Hey! I remember you!" we both said at the same time. I was about to talk to her when I heard a small cough. I turned around and say Jay smirking, Cole and Zane trying to hide their laughter, Lloyd smiling, and Nya grinning. "So, ya gonna introduce us, or not!" Jay said while still smirking. "Kaya, this is Jay Walker, Cole Brookstone, Lloyd Garmadon, and Zane Julien, and you already know me and Nya!" I said while rubbing my head. "Heheh yeah" I said. Everyone started talking to her. I looked at her and it was hard to stop looking. She had dark blonde shoulder-length hair, and light purple eyes that were so easy to get lost in. I guess that she noticed me staring because she looked at me with confusion. "Well, I guess I better start going to Science." She said with a little half smile. "You have science?" Zane asked. Kaya nodded. "So do I!" They started walking down the hall talking about their schedules. "Wow. I can see why you like her!" Lloyd teased me. "Wh-Whatever!" I said while blushing fiercely, while walking away
