My eyes drifted back and forth from my book to Harry as Mr.Schulls ranted on and on about the Illiad, his morning breath filling the whole classroom.

The story talked about gods and humans and envy. I rolled my eyes not caring. This wasn't my subject.

It really wasn't anyone's subject.

Harry didn't notice me try to pass a note because he was staring at the back of Luke Hemmings head.

Luke was his crush of the week, which made me scoff every time he said it.

I honestly scoffed every time he got a new "crush for the week".

I don't scoff because Harry is gay, I scoff because just about every guy he decides to direct is affection towards is a complete ass.

Luke barely talks to anyone, and he hates when people look him directly in the eye.

Harry finally turned to face me.

"Mate?" He called with a goofy grin on his face, indicating that he was just awakening from his day dream.

"Let's go to the pier after school. " he suggested whispering.

I nodded reluctantly and began stacking my books up the bell would ring in a moment and like always I would be the first one to dart out if the classroom.

"Why'd you want to come to the pier?" I inquired Harry as he clutched his brown journal tightly and walked about five feet ahead of me on the pier.

He shrugged smirking.

Idiot.

I eventually tuned out as Harry started blabbing about Luke.

I just couldn't wrap my finger around what made Luke so perfect to Harry, and I wasn't sure if I cared.

"Are you even listening Zayn?"

I chuckled a bit before answering him with a dry," No. "

"I gotta get some gay friends." He muttered smiling.

I looked up and smiled before turning my head to look at the sea. The crystal waters reflected the sun and made life seem so precious.

"My mum wants me home."Harry sighed. "

"Go ahead. I'll just stick around here till sunset."

Harry nodded curtly before giving me a quick side hug and sprinting off.

I smiled to myself as I watched him go but the smile immediately turned bitter as I though of his words.

"My mum..." I repeated to myself. The words felt foreign escaping my lips.

You've never had a mum Zayn.

I ignored the voice in my head taunted
Me and jabbing at my souls by staring up at the sky and watching the sun began to falter and fall.

Soon all the light had disappeared an the moon stared down at me mockingly.

I didn't have anyone to go home to,or a curfew so taking my time was an option. An option that I chose to decline.

I took off down the pier into a light jog, which soon turned into a sprint

That's when it happened.

My body collided with hers and my body lacked an reaction.

The thin girl fell to the ground, landed fatally.

I could see the ivory bone sticking out the side of her neck. I cowered away slowly and watched as she stood up.

Her neck still messed up.

She grabbed her head and put it back in place and within seconds it was like nothing had happened.

I scanned her body starting with her feet,I cringed when I got to her bloody neck but when her eyes met mine. I ran.

Like a fucking coward I ran.

I kept running and looking back, kind of like the way you look back on your
past, but with her it's like I was looking back at my future.

I was fascinated.

Already.
