The Yale bound teen had been reduced to a lifeless shell of what she could have become.
Carlisle Cullen had seen the girl when she was brought in, her dark blue eyes wide open and stuck in a perpetual state of shock. He had listened to her parents sob into her hospital gown and hold her hands until they grew stiff. He watched as her visitors slowly decreased and her flowers wilted until soon enough, the teen was left to rot in her own mind waiting for the plug to finally be pulled. And when her parents finally made the call to end her suffering, Carlisle stepped up saving the girl from her untimely death but damning her to an eternal hell.
Lissa Cullen had become the monster that she feared as a child, and even though she had accepted the fact that she was something from a nightmare, she couldn't cope with the fact that fate had been so cruel as to pair her with someone who she could never truly love. Because while Mike Newton danced with the living, Lissa Cullen floated with the dead.
It was a damn shame that all the worst people were basically magnets to the best.
