Sampal sa akin na hindi ako makakasama sa kanila. Sampal sa akin na isa pa lamang akong palamunin ni Ate Kath at mag-aaral pa para makapagtravel sa future.

Pity me.

On the next day, hinatid ako ni kuya Marckus sa school. Bigat na bigat sa mga libro na pasan. Ate Kath chose the Sydney, Australia trip. She doesn't trust me with her business, that's why. I can't blame her though I'm busy with school after all. Bahala siya kung ayaw niyang pulutin ang lahat ng blessings. Hindi ko naman kawalan 'yon. Hindi rin naman mauubusan ng pera si kuya Marckus para manghinayang siya.

But that means, kuya Marckus will spend his time at home or at the Kath's Florist.

"Are you sure you are good with your books? Kailangan mo ba 'yan lahat para ngayon?" Tanong ni kuya nang makita akong nahihirapang bumaba dahil sa mga libro.

"I'm good. I need these. All of these." Ngumiti ako at nagpumilit pang kumaway, "see you later kuya."

I'm not a 'nerd' type of girl but I will be needing these books today. May plano akong mag-aral ng mabuti. Nakapag-isip isip lang nitong mga nakaraang araw. I decided to become an independent woman in the near future. I'm a adventuress. I'm a girl with dreams! Napagtanto kong hindi ko makakamit ang mga gusto ko kung hindi ako mag-aaral ng mabuti ngayon pa lang. That I won't reach what I want in the nearest future without studying what's today. I'm pretty much determine! Hindi ko nga lang alam kung saan ko nakuha ang kasipagan. Hindi ko lang din alam kung pangkinabukasan na ba ito o panandaliang mentality lang. I know myself really well, madaling magbago ang isip ko. Hindi ako nagpupumilit kung hindi talaga kaya. That's one of my worries. Hanggang saan ako tatagal sa goals kong ito.

"Whoa! That's a lot of books," si Blanca.

Bumungad agad ang kaniyang nakakasawang mukha.

She was eating chocolate early in the morning. Para siya 'yong nakikita ko sa TV na nambubully ng mga kaklase. Her ponytail and the way she wore her uniform makes it a complete package. Pagkapasok ko ng classroom ay siya pa lang ang naroroon. Rafaela's bag is also here but she's somewhere flirting with Zeek. Baka may morning practice o nasa tambayan sila. Now, I'm stuck with this young lady in a bully attire. Ngumiwi ako sa kaniya. Do I have to answer saying she's stating the obvious, or what? Nope! I'm all good.

Maaga kami para makaiwas sa listahan ng mga cleaners. Last 5 students na late makakaattendance ay sila ang maglilinis ng classroom. Yeah, there's some kind of a rule. Some kind of a classroom rule. Kahit na nagbabayad naman kami ng mga janitors. Well, this might be a part of moral values or a what so ever thing. Hindi naman kami maarte nina Blanca. We just don't like cleaning sometimes. May mga after school activities din kami kaya kailangan naming maging exempted. Sometimes, you don't need to be a good student. Nakakasawa din 'yon minsan!

"I need to study."

"Pfft—"

"'Wag kang tatawa! Seryoso ako." Mariin kong sagot. Nilapag ko ang bag pati na rin ang hawak na mga libro. "I'm very, very serious."

"I heard pinayagan kang manood ng Fifty Shades? Totoo ba 'yon?" Blanca trying to ignore my words. She doesn't believe that I'm into studying now.

"Rafaela and her mouth." I ignore her question too.

"What do you expect? Mas bff kami. She's loyal to me," tawang-tawa si Blanca.

Whatever! I thought. Umupo ako at inignora si Blanca. She is seated beside me. She was scanning from her distance the books I brought today. From Science, Calculus to Business English. I brought everything I could study with. Like I said, I'm pretty much determined. Hindi ko lang alam kung kailan ito tatagal.
