Arriving on a train from Munich, you have no choice but to squeeze between mountains and witness breath-taking views of the Austrian hills with their incredible houses and colourful vistas, leading to a horizon which is incredible. Salzburg itself sits nestled between two mountainous ridges, with a wide, vivacious river running through the middle of it.
Quaint bridges hang between two feisty built up areas which are beautifully lit at night and full of a thriving shopping area and many bars and restaurants to keep any visitors very happy and always feeling satisfied. But the main thing which resonates throughout the birth place of Mozart is of course the sound of music.
