Lungs

A long time ago my grandmother told me a story of what it used to be like in finding your soulmate. She told me that over time while science developed everything changed, and over time it became easier. She told me a story of a girl she knew, that had actually found her soulmate while she was still young.

Now the story went something like this; Everyone in the world has a soulmate. Whether or not you actually find them is a whole different thing. For some, they meet their soulmate early on when they're children. Most meet them while they're in their late twenties. For some though it takes years and they don't meet them until they're old and wilting with age. My friend though, she met her soulmate while she was still in high school.

Now I need to backtrack a bit, how do you know when you meet your soulmate? Well that's simple really. Your lungs tell you. For example, if you're someone who is riddled with anxiety and it feels like something is pressing down on your chest and you can't breathe well once you meet your soulmate you feel as if you have all the air in the world. It goes for the opposite as well, if you're happy go lucky nothing gets you down well once you meet your soulmate your breath gets taken away. It's a very complex process. For some it's a surprise on if they gain or lose breath. But once it happens you just know what it means, no matter how your lungs react.

Now back to my friend. My friend had been staring at puppies through a pet story window when she realized she had to get back to work or she would be late. Hurried she turned around, but right when she did she slammed into someone. Causing them both to fall down. My friend of course started to apologize, extremely embarrassed, when she looked up at the girl she had ran into. The other girl of course had already been staring at my friend when she looked up. When they made eye contact both of the girls began to blush, and breath heavily. Now sadly my friend would never tell me what her or the other girl's lungs did at that moment (since it's such a personal experience) but she knew in that instant she had found her soulmate. Helping the girl up, my friend asked if she wanted to go get coffee or something. Of course the other girl accepted, and there they went and got coffee and got to know each other better.

Now I won't bore you with all the details of what happened between the two, but after years of dating they finally got married. Ever since then they've been living happily together, never forgetting that first encounter (they loved telling that story to everyone they met.) Oh and my friend sadly got fired from her job, since she never actually showed up that day. Now as I said, over time science made this whole process easier. But when it comes down to it, listen to your lungs, not just your heart, because they'll also tell you if someone is your soulmate or not.
