She chuckled as she watched her tears fall on the paper. Her hand wrote shaky words and dark emotions on the paper. She folded it up and placed it under the chair. She climbed on top of the chair and put the rope around her neck. "Happy April fools day." She managed to choke out. She swiftly kicked the chair out from under her. She struggled for a few moments till she took her last breathe. "Time for dinner dear!" Her mother called from the first floor. No response. She called again. No response. She huffed and set her spoon down. She walked up the stairs and stopped in front of her child's door. She knocked. No response. She gently opened the door. "Honey, it's time fo-" She clasped her hands over her mouth and screamed. Her eyes became a water fall of tears. She stared at the girl she had raised for 15 years, now dead, hanging from the ceiling. She looked at her baby girls lifeless eyes. What had she done wrong? She spotted the paper on the ground. She slowly walked over to it. She picked it up with a shaky hand. She slowly unfolded the tear stained paper. She looked at the paper and began reading.
Dear Mom
Don't cry mom. Just hug your pillow tight tonight. I'm probably somewhere where I can be truly happy. I'm sorry I'm not a fighter mom. I'm sorry to make you sad but majority rules I guess. Im sure in a few years youll forget my face. Thats good. Im not really something to be dwelled on. I cant stay here with this horrible race any longer. I'll be watching you from up above and I'll send down the purest of doves. You'll know when your time has come, just look at the sky. I love you mom. You were the only one in this world I could trust. You held the key to my heart. I hope dinner tastes good. I love you. Goodbye.
She dropped to her knees and gripped the note. She bawled into her hands. She had just lost her baby girl. The happy memories of playing in the garden were now dead. She looked at her lifeless child. Her eyes were dull and her wrists were full of scars. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialed 911. "911, what's your emergency?" The lady on the other line said. "MY BABY GIRL IS DEAD!" She shouted as she choked on tears. The lady asked for her address and told her to stay on the line as the police were sent to the house. They scooped her body up. It was the most beautiful funeral her mother had ever seen.
50 years later
The old lady stared at the bright blue sky. Her wrinkled 80 year old hands rested on a wheel chair arms as the wind blew in her face. The nursing home garden was full of beautiful flowers. The bees buzzed around happily. She smiled up at the sky. "I guess it's my time." She whispered. She saw her daughter dressed in a beautiful dress that was white with pink flowers at the trim. She had a flower in her hair and a crystal necklace. She offered her mother her hand. She took it, her skin becoming fair and her face becoming young. She stood and followed her in to the bright white light.
