I get up out of bed and stretch. Today was the day they will give me a partner. I hope it is going to be a sexy girl or even a strong guy. I put on my Games outfit. Which is black, tight, stretchy pants and a shirt just like it with a Gamer emblem on it. The Games are literally a game. The monsters in the game are taking over Ryusima. It's is a Gamers responsibility to kill the monsters. Each Gamer has a partner. There is different levels of the Games. The Gamers can also level up. The gamers are chosen by a birthmark on their arm. I don't have a level because i don't have a partner. When i get my partner we are going to have to go to go to Inayashima which is a gamer school in Ryusima.
I rush to finish my breakfast and run to the council's house. The council house is a block away from mine. This is where I will get my partner. I walk into the building and go up to the secretary.
"Hello, you must be here for the choosing. Go to the left and go up the stairs then go to the door on the right." She goes back to typing on the computer. I look to the left and start walking the way she told me. As soon as i walk into the room i am shocked it is a huge room full of kids who look my age. I get told where to sit. I look to the kid to my right and smile. He makes a weird grunting sound and nods. I would hate to be partnered with him that would get annoying. I look at he guy to my left and he smiles at me.
"Hey, this is exciting isnt it." he asks me.
"Yea, i can't wait to see who my partner is."
"Same, but i don't care who they are i just really want to meet them." After a few minutes we here a name gets called.
"Ryan" the speakers say.
"Oh, thats me." he says getting up. "Good luck." He smiles and waves goodbye.
It feels like hours has passed before they called me.
"Seth" The voice says. I get up all and all the sudden i am super nervous. I walk slowly to the room behind the stage. When i get there there is a girl there. She is wearing a hoodie that covers her face but you can still see her hair which is really long and brown. She seems really short to be a Gamer. I look up at the Seyr. His voice booms. This is your partner protect them with your life. Now you must finish the partnering. I look at the girl and sigh i really wanted a good partner. But you get what you get.
I put my hand in the air. She kinda just looks at me for a second. Then she steps forward and puts her hand up too. As soon as our hands touch there is a bright black light. Then i see her whole life flash. I see her as a kid playing with magic spirits i see her with her grandpa when he dies. I even see all the way to he getting ready to come her dreading every minute. The Seyr gasps and stands up.
"Two in one day, the games are changing."
I Look at the Seyr. "What do you mean. Two in one year."
The Seyr laughs, "The light that shines represents what type of gamer you guys are but there should only be one group that turns black every other year. You guys are the "special"."
I look at the girl to my right. She still hasn't said anything but she was looking at the Seyr. I look back at the Seyr. "What does the black light mean."
The Seyr looks at me then my partner. "Your teacher will tell you. Now leave." I nod. And walk towards the door i came from. I stop and look back. My partner is just standing their.
"Come on. I can't leave you behind." She nods and follows me out the door. I look at her for a second. "Did you see my life too?" She nods and looks away. "I still don't understand why you don't talk." She stops walking for a second and then keeps walking. When we step out the door we are outside the building. Standing their waiting for us is this weird looking guy.
