Jane Foster was thoroughly fed up. Two years ago Thor had gone back to Asgard. Her beautiful, flawless warrior had sworn to come back to her. She reprimanded herself daily for believing him. Of course he wouldn't return! He was the God of thunder for heaven's sake! He had probably completely forgotten her and got himself a woman, who was as perfect as a barbie doll! Who was she kidding? After no contact for 2 years it was almost certain he'd forgotten her...

Suddenly her best friend Darcy ran into the room. Jane (who had been cleaning her apartment as she thought about Thor) squealed in surprise and placed her hand over her heart, still reeling in surprise.

"Darcy! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Darcy laughed. "Ha! Couldn't let that opportunity slip through my fingers!" Darcy let her smile fade slightly and continued her next sentence slightly hesitantly. "Where has my nerdy science geek friend gone? You've had that wistful face on for weeks. You know he'd be upset if he saw you like that. Can't you just move on? You look like you haven't slept for weeks honey!" Jane turned her back on Darcy and sighed softly. Darcy was so blissfully unaware. Much as she adored her best friend, she couldn't help but feel annoyed with her when she approached this topic. She knew she couldn't tell her how she felt. Darcy hadn't fallen in love yet. She didn't know how much it ached to be parted from the one you love.

Taking a deep breath, Jane cleared her head of those thoughts and turned back to Darcy, with a bright smile on her face. "I haven't! Actually Miss Smarty Pants, I haven't been thinking about Thor. I've been thinking about how ticklish you are!" Jane wielded her feather duster and charged at Darcy. Before she knew what had hit her, Darcy was sprawled on the sofa surrendering to Jane and her duster. Jane however had no intention of stopping anytime soon. She'd longed for this moment since Darcy had told her how she felt about tickling. Darcy had never been around long enough for Jane to get her in this position. Darcy regretted the day she'd told Jane of her tickling weakness.

"Please stop! I surrender to your mighty power, oh great duster!" she managed to squeal breathlessly. Equally breathless, Jane released her grinning triumphantly.

"Jane - 1, Darcy - 0!"

"That was not fair! Actually it's 1 all because I surprised you when I came in! Aha!"

"Darcy. I never play fair!" They both giggled hysterically for a while. When they'd both recovered Darcy decided to explain to Jane why she'd come.

'Hey Jane. You know that party that those hot boys are holding? Well I was invited and I'm allowed to bring a friend, so I was wondering if you wanted to come. We haven't let our hair down in ages. What do you think?" Jane considered for a moment and agreed. They conversed a while longer until Darcy was satisfied with the arrangements. They hugged and went their separate ways.

Jane slept well that night, happy that she would get a chance act 20 again. She wasn't aware of the ivy green eyes that smirked at her from the door of her bed whilst she slept. After about half an hour of this, the stranger turned on his heel and teleported out of the room. Jane abruptly woke up and shivered. She could have sworn someone had been there. Uneasily she shrugged and went back to sleep.

A/N: so what do you think? Should I continue or is it a waste of time? Feedback is much appreciated!
