Chapter One Lilly's POV

It was a cool afternoon, the sun was just beginning to go down, and the street lamps were all coming on. The air was not cold nor was it hot. I was just coming back home from working at a bar called "The Shack". It wasn't really fancy by any means but the tips were good. I had just parked my car in the driveway of my small one bedroom, one bath home. It isnt nice but I've been dedicating odd ours of my days off to fixing the place up.

I had just gotten out of my car and was locking it by key when I took a peak at my reflection in the window of my car. My small frame and body looking even smaller what with wearing all black from head to toe, along with my black hair running down my shoulders in little waterfalls. Just as I was looking away I noticed a figure standing behind me. I then felt a sharp pain in my neck, like a bee sting. It took all I had not to scream. Instead I turned around on my heals and aimed the key that I had just used to lock my car with at the strangers gut. The stranger jumped back almost instantly so that all I was stabbing at was air. And just like as soon as I had seen the figure in the reflection of the window, the stranger was gone just as fast without making a sound. The only thing I could hear was the beating of my heart in my ears and the quick breathing out of my mouth. When I was positive the stranger was gone I bolted to my front door, hands shaking and sweaty I somehow managed to unlock and open the door. I ran inside bolting the door shut behind me.

I put a hand over my neck and ran to the bathroom and turned the light on. I looked at my neck in the mirror and saw that there was a tiny hole in my neck. I drop of blood was bubbling out of it. I got some rubbing alcohol. I put the rubbing alcohol on it and then a band aid over it. I felt fine, but the anxiety hit. I had no idea what it could be. A bug? But who was that stranger? Confused and tired I got in bed and called my boss and told her I wouldnt be able to come in to work tomorrow. I told her what had happened to me and that I would be going to the doctor in the morning to have a test ran. Maybe they will know what it is.

The next morning I got up and went to the doctor. I felt fine so it made me worry even more as to what that man had done. The doctors office parking lot wasn't very packed so I was able to get in to see the doctor fairly shortly. Doctor Davis came into the room and sat down on a tiny rolling chair and was reading my chart. He wrinkled his forehead in confusion and looked up from the chart in his hands. "Miss Wilkinson, can you show me your neck?" I moved my hair from my neck and removed the band aid from my neck. I began telling him what had happened when I got the mysterious hole on my neck. Doctor Davis nodded his head while examining my neck. "Mhm.. I see.."

After finishing examining my neck and listening to my story he clasped his hands together. "Well Miss Wilkinson, I'm not sure what it could be. It doesn't seem like a bee sting. If you want me to be honest here it looks more like you got stuck with a needle. Did you feel any different at all after the encounter with the stranger?" My heart began to race. My imagination going into overdrive. A needle?! What the hell could he have injected into me? I knew that I felt fine after the encounter though. I shook my head and threw my hands up. "Doctor Davis, I felt one-hundred percent fine, considering I thought I had just gotten out of being mugged or raped. I didn't feel sick or anything. I just felt shook up, scared and exhausted. I didnt sleep well because I was scared the stranger would come back." He looked a bit stumped at this point. "Alright then, I'm gonna draw some blood and take a urine sample from you and send it off to get some lab work done on it. If there is anything in your system we will find it. I'll call you when I get back your results. If you have anything else to add that you can remember until then make sure you call me. You know my number." I nodded and crossed my arms. "Okay, I can do that.
