The quiet one

7 AM. Maci has to wake up. Unfortunately, she thinks. She lives alone in a cheap apartment.

When her alarm goes of, she stays in bed for a couple minutes. She doesnt like school. All those people, teachers whose breath smell like coffee and ciggaretes. Hate is a strong word, but she really does hate school. The only thing that keeps her going to school is because she wants to be a lawyer. Giving people a voice, she says. Oh, and because her bestfriend Ainsley goes to the same school.

Soon enough she realises its already 7.15 AM. She has to rush. Maci quickly puts on a black t-shirt and black jeans. After brushing her teeth and packing her bag she leaves for school. School isn't her first stop though, she stops to get breakfest and coffee because she didnt have time to get it at home.

Around 8.15 AM Maci arrives at school. When she parks her car, the first person she sees is Ainsley. 'Hey! Maci!' Shouts Ainsley. 'God damn it Ains. I'm like 5 feet away from you, why do you have to shout at me?' Is what Maci replies. 'Yeah, yeah. What ever M. You're late, we should get to our first class..' Maci nods and walks with Ainsley. On their way to maths Maci says: 'You know that this is the second class we attend? First class fell out Ains.'

Walking into class Maci sees him. Liam Lockwood. School's badass. Every girl loves him. Thats really funny though, because he doesn't like any girl. Sure, he does hook up with every breathing girl on school, except me. But he never actually has had a serious relationship. I always see him studying in the library. 'Miss Harendale. How nice of you to join the class. You're late.' Shit. I zoned out. 'Yes, yes. Sorry ma'am, won't happen again.' Quickly replies Maci. 'I sure hope it won't happen again, Miss Harendale. You've been late 2 times already. Just take a seat right now.'

Maci looks into the classroom. There are no seats free, except the one next to Liam. She already becomes nervous by thinking about sitting next to him. And thats nothing like Maci. Maci doesnt give a fuck about boys. 'Not interested.' is her reply when boys ask her out. She kind of is the same as Liam. She hooks up, but relationships? That's a no from her.

'Maci Harendale. Are you going to just stand there? Go pack you books and sit down!' Oh no, she zoned out. Again. Stupid Liam with his stupid face. Yeah, stupid gorgeous face though. She laughs and sits down. Miss Theders goes on with her lesson.

The whole period Maci and Liam don't talk. Until Liam breaks the ice. 'Hey, quiet one, do you know the answer?' Maci kind of startled because of him. 'Quiet one? Should i make you quiet?' Liam laughs. 'Feisty AND quiet. Well, that's a weird combination.' Maci looks at Liam. 'Can you leave me alone, please? The answer is 69.'

Liam doesn't talk anymore, and so does Maci. But when the class is over Liam comes over to Maci. 'Hey quiet one, i never catched your name.' Maci replies: 'With that attitude you gave me in class, you'll never get it.' Liam sighs. 'Aw, come on. I'll *try* to be nicer. My name is Liam.'

'I know your name is Liam. Everyone knows you're Liam. I am Maci.' Liam kind of looks shocked. 'Why do you look so shocked? Did i say something wrong? If i did, i dont care.' When Maci says that, Liam replies: 'No, you did not say anything wrong, but you're THE Maci? Badass Maci?' What? First week of school and i already have a nickname. How nice. 'I guess so. I don't get why i am called that though.' Liam laughs. Damn, he has a pretty fucking beautiful laugh, thinks Maci. 'Yeah, me neither. Like, punching someone because he asked for your number is totally not bad ass or something.' Maci laughs and explains that she has to go for lunch.

When school is over she goes home. When she's home, she thinks about what happened today. Liam talked to her. I didnt concentrate the whole class because i was looking at his beautiful face. I didn't speak to Ains anymore though. Ill catch up with her tommorow.
