Maka and Kid arrived at the settled place, gladly taking in the requests for the mission. It was a windy day in the afternoon in Egypt. It was silent, a little too silent. Maka sighed and kept thinking about Soul, sure she was tired of him and his ruthless ways, but he was a good kid and she couldn't stop thinking about the way she treated him ever since that morning. Kid turned noticing and frowned, "We're here." he told her, pointing at a large pyramid. "We're... going in there?" she asked hesitantly. Kid nodded, "It won't be that bad. Come on!" he said and ran off inside, his weapons suddenly turning into a large skateboard, pulling her aboard. Maka held him close, hugging around his waist as they entered the pyramid, Maka's cheeks turned bright pink and layed her head on his back to keep warm. He suddenly stopped and they both went flying foreward onto a pile, 'Why did you stop!?" she scoffed. Kid looked up, 'It's absolutely beaautiful here!" he said, completely ignoring her annoyance. Maka sighed standing up and caughed, when all of a sudden a huge beast dog appeared. Two of it's eyes shown deep dark red, it's clwas slashed at them, knocking them both over.
"Kid!" she called trying to wake him up, but he was knocked out cold, or sleeping, whichever came first. Maka stood up and struggled looking up at the huge beasts and growled. "Bring it on!" she yelled and started running towards it, she would do what she could without her weapon. The paw slashed at her again, and she went flying back. In a moment she was caught by Soul and set down onto the ground nicely, she looked up at him surprised. "Soul...?" Soul glanced down and smiled, "You're my meister, I can't leave you alone." he turned into the scythe and Maka nodded standing up and gripping it with her hands. "Let's go!" she screamed and ran towards the dog with amazing speed, slashing off one of it's whiskers to interrigate it. The dog attacked back, but missed going into the wall. Maka stopped and turned rushing toward the beast as it's head was stuck in the wall of the pyramid, and with one strike it's head was slice off in seconds, and disappeared. Maka stood where she was and panted, Soul had returned to his human form. Maka ran off before Soul could say something and was near Kid, "Kid!?' she called shaking him awake. He looked up, "There's two of you.." his eyes sparkled. "Symmetrical.." he fell asleep. Soul sighed and walked over throwing him over his back, holding him as a piggy-back ride back to the Academy. "Soul.." she mumbled. Soul glanced at her, "I'm sorry, for the way I acted." she said looking down, honestly. Soul sighed, "It's fine, it's my fault I insulted you. You're a cool partner afterall." he said walking ahead of her. Maka nodded and followed after, Soul turned and grabbed the beasts soul, gulping it down. "Mission accomplished. Now, let's get Symmetrical boy over here back." And so the two returned to the Academy, though they got a cold scold from Death, but were congratulated for taking a soul. And the best part, Soul and Maka became friends, and better partners.
