A Friend
Laughing, Talking, Smiling.
Making inside jokes.
Jokes... that are between two people
Two other people
Not with you.
Gathering in circles
That kick others out.
Remembering days
That you didn't experience.
A True Friend
Cries in joy... laughing
Jokes with you
Supports you
The invisible becomes visible.
The cocoon is open
And the colors are dancing.
You become as free
As the bird
That was free from its cage.
One greets you
The other welcomes you.
One sees you
The other includes you.
One talks to you
The other has a conversation with you.
One helps you
The other soothes you.
One is there
The other completes.
Searching, searching
Hard to find.
But once found...
Will I ever know?
