my tongue tumbles over words
Tip-toeing through syllables
crash and burning in twisted sounds
sounds that don't make sense
not even to my ears
my own lips which spoke them
I cannot comprehend my intentions
when they are strung together in
haphazard sentences
brain to pen is easier to understand
for the both of us
Don't I sound elegant now?
refined and proper now?
if you asked me in person
to explain my brain
I'd sound like static
to both you and I
But here,
in this separation from time
I have ages to pick and choose
The right words to use
I make sense in slow motion
in a written erosion of my thoughts
I can break them down clearly here
but not with my uncoordinated throat
not with these nonsense mumblings
from my mouth
you'll find it's easier to read my mind
when it is written down
