I wasn't always like this, in fact there were once times when I was actually normal. My name is Craig and this is my story. I was born in a barn in Texas and when I was two my parents moved up to Washington DC and there was where I spent the rest of my days.
My dad died when I was 4, and later on my mom married again. My step dad started out cool but eventually showed his true colors, he wasn't much of a step-dad anymore, he was an alcoholic and stressed my mom almost everyday. My dear mom financed my schooling and with a step-dad like that, you could imagine how my life was at school. On second thought, no you couldn't. I was an outcast to the other kids, I got bullied every day and I had no friends. I was that kid who would sit at the corner with a hood on. I was a looser until one day, actually it all began the night before.
I was on my way home that night, it wasn't that dark, I was walking down the pavement when I noticed a truck subtly following me from behind, I pretended I didn't know what was happening and continued walking but it was getting closer. I panicked and began running. I ran as fast as I could but the truck just wouldn't loose me, I ran then I fell. That was a wrong mistake, I was about to get up when I felt a dart pierce through my neck. And that's when my blackout began.
Next morning I woke up safe and sound in my room. It was freaky, how did I get there? As my mind wondered for the answer, I heard my mom call me down for breakfast. So I took a shower, put on my school gear and went down to her.
"Say mom, how did I get home yesterday?" I asked with a puzzled look at her.
"Uh, you used your skateboard as always." she replied without a blink.
I could tell she was telling the truth, she always blinked unstably when she lies. But wait a minute, I did not ride my skateboard yesterday night. Or did I, was it just a dream?
"And at what time did I arrive?" I asked further.
Mom sighed as she served the pancakes.
"Craig is this a set up? Why are you asking me questions you already know the answers to? Now eat up, you're gonna be late, I have a busy day today."
I could see how tired she was and did not want to stress her out anymore, so I ate and skated off to school.
