"Guys, you're missing the best part!" Edd called.
I quickly downed nearly half the reminder of the bottle and handed it back.
"You can thank me later." Tord laughed at my already intoxicated demeanor. "Lightweight."
We walked back into the room, Tord stuffed the bottle behind the couch and sat back down nonchalantly.
-------
I woke to a pain in my side as Tord kicked me roughly.
"Tom." He whispered.
My eyes opened slowly, I was still slightly drunk, and it was obvious so was he.
"What happened to Matt and Edd?"
I sat up and shrugged.
"I don't know. They probably went to bed."
Tord turned off the television which was stuck on the title screen and pulled something out from behind the couch.
"Finish this off for me." He said, tossing me the bottle as he stood up and walked into the kitchen.
I unscrewed the cap and raised the bottle to my lips, pouring the clear liquid into my throat.
Tord spoke from the other room, before coming in holding a scrap of paper.
"Edd left a note saying they left to your guy's dorm to catch up on some sleep."
I could hear the soft pitter-patter of rain out the window.
"Fucking weirdos... like who does that." He muttered. "Twenty bucks says they're fucking."
I cringed at that thought, desperately trying to think of something else.
Suddenly lightning crashed outside soon followed by thunder. I shook as it startled me, fully awake now.
"Well looks like I'm not getting back to sleep anytime soon." I groaned, rubbing my eyes.
Tord stepped forward, setting the note nack on the counter. He sat back on the couch next to me, pulling a Bluetooth speaker from his backpack that was slung around the side of the couch.
He also took the bottle from my hands and hid inside a blue hoodie which was tucked tightly towards the bottom.
"That's okay, I have troubles sleeping sometimes anyways, now it's just like I have someone here with me to keep me entertained.. I guess.." he shrugged, shuffling up next to me.
I could feel his chest slowly rising and falling as he sat so close to me, his phone in his hands scrolling through his music. He wrapped one arm around my shoulders.
Jesus he was so close. Too close.
He scrolled some more untik landing on the song 'Rebel Yell' by Billy Idol.
The song personal brought back memories from my early childhood, with it being a pretty popular song around the time I was seven, although the lyrics were quite suggestive.
Tord slid his phone back in his pocket, removing his arm from me.
"Sorry." He said, noticing my expression. "The music I listen too is kinda... different." He laughed.
I snapped out of my weird dream phase and back to reality, quickly shaking my head.
"No, it's fine." I reassured the taller boy who was still sitting way too close to me. "I like it."
We sat there making small talk for a while going through various punk and a few pop artists as I tried to keep my cool,
But one specific song came on, making me nearly jump off the couch.
Tord looked concerned until he realised my reaction was due to the song.
The song was by Journey, I knew that much, but it was so different from the other songs. It was slower and almost sounded like one of those songs you'd slow dance to at prom.
My heart began to beat faster and my palms got sweaty as Tord wrapped his arm around my waist and held me close and muttered something softly.
I turned to face him, about to ask him to repeat himself. His hand made it's way up to my cheek.
Before I knew it we were both leaning in and our lips had collided together. He grabbed my hand and pushed me back down on the couch.
I let him do what he wanted as he pulled my sweatshirt up, exposing my bare skin as I didn't wear a shirt underneath the red fabric.
He sat up, pushing himself off of me.
"Fuck... I'm sorry.." He sighed. "I have problems... I know."
I sat up as he pushed himself to the other side of the couch.
The playlist started over with Rebel Yell again, the song this time making me want to rip my hair out.
He turned away from me, pulling his blue hoodie from his bag and throwing it over his body. He grabbed the bag and walked towards the door.
"I'll leave you alone now.." He said. "I'm sorry, Tom."
He left the music playing, his phone left on the coffee table as he walked out.
I threw myself up from that couch as fast as I could, tossing on my shoes and grabbing Matt's oversized rain coat, holding it over myself as I ran after him.
I called his name as I ran down the street, seeing him turn as I got closer and the louder I yelled.
"Tom, I-"
I threw myself at him, causing him to fall backwards onto the sidewalk. His blue hoodie was soaked.
"Fuck you, Tord." I gasped for air, a smile played across my lips. "I fucking hate you."
I pressed our lips together again.
