"Carla! Better get up now! Food on the table!" I was already awake and sitting by my desk. I stood up and yawned. I took a quick look in the mirror and my green eyes shimmered in the light. People have pointed out that my eyes are unusualy bright for a human. Pfft, did they think I was some kind of super human or some shit? Nahhh, they aren't real! I walked downstairs and saw Nixon playing with a piece of paper, he was the middle of all us and he was very childish. Kace was half asleep and topless as usual. Mum was sitting with her phone and a cup of tea in her hands. Or, well. She wasn't our biological mother, she was married to our father who was at work in the current. I walked into the kitchen and started to make my breakfast. My red hair and green eyes were rare, there were few who had bright eyes like I did. Kace on the other hand had violet eyes. And I mean violet, they were screamingly violet. They were almost pink. We had some messed up family genes, I'll tell you that. Nixon was fairly normal, unless the fact that he had white hair. "Carla, dear can you fetch me the honey?" I heard Shannon say. Well, our step mother was named Shannon. I nodded and opened one of the cupboards and grabbed the jar of honey and a spoon and came up to her with it. She patted my head and went back to scrolling through instagram. I rolled my eyes when Kace poked me in the side as I walked back to the kitchen. I prepared my breakfast which was two openfaced sandwiches with jam on them. I was a picky eater. As I sat down beside Nixon he poked me in the side, they were clearly trying to get on my nerves. "whaaaat?" I said as I slapped him on the knee. He chuckled and said "you are cuter without makeup, stay that way" I shrugged. "one can not help being born into perfection!" I fanned my face as if it was exhausting. Kace laughed loudly. Which was his way of laughing, a howling laugh. He always took another breath as if he was laughing twice. It kind of sounded like an asthma attack at times, which always cracked me up. Shannon smiled a bit behind her phone but went back to scrolling through it.
"Come on Kace! Give it baccck!" I heard Nixon shout from downstairs. I could only guess Kace had taken his necklace from him. He was pretty protective of it as usual. Why I had no idea, he just made it and never let go of it. It made something a bit more funny thinking of how much he hated to take it off. It was only really a white stone he had put in a shell of silver and put a lace through it and made it to a necklace. It did look pretty nice but still, why was he so protective over it? Gah! I shouldn't say anything. If Kace or Nixon took my diary I would kill them. So I wouldn't ask any questions. I had hid my diary pretty well concidering my room was pretty small. I lived on the third floor which was basically the roof along with Nixon and Kace. Shannon and our dad lived on the second floor right beside the toilet. On the first floor was another toilet, the kitchen, dining room, living room and the door to the small backyard we had. I sat down behind my desk and took out my sketchbook. I started to draw a character I had made up yesterday at school. It was Saturday today so no school! Thankfully. I was on the breaking point during the last hour of class yesterday. But well, concidering it was biology it made sence. I hated biology more than anything. Or well, no. Not more than math. Math sucked. Oh yea, I never mentioned our cat Toyo. He was a sweetheart, he was a american shorthair and incredibly food motivated. Toyo was by far my favorite person in the household. I had even installed a cat flap in my door so he could roam freely. I drew a neko boy, he was pretty emo with piercings here and there. I was pretty proud over the outcome and put it back in the drawer. Toyo came in through the cat flap and jumped up on my lap. "Are Nixon and Kace too loud for you Toyo baby?" I asked, knowing he couldn't answer but well, I loved him so.. I heard footsteps and then doors slamming. I guessed Nixon had caught his necklace and had ran back to his room and slammed the door shut. I giggled at how stupid my older brothers were.
"Carla, can you let Toyo in?" I heard my dad shout from the couch. I was making tea for myself in the kitchen, but I gladly let Toyo in. "Should I feed him as well?" I asked as I let him in. "Please do" I smiled and looked down at Toyo "Come on boy! We are going to get food!" Toyo perked up and started to run towards the kitchen. I laughed and ran after him. He had a special place in my heart. I grabbed the food bag and poured in two cups in his bowl and changed his water. I heard the crisps of him eating. I made myself tea and walked up to my room. I heard Kace chatting with his friends via discord as he usaly did. I heard a laugh that sounded like a female. I shrugged and opened my door and walked inside. I sat down and started up my computer and put on Keeping Up With The Kardashians because I had no life. Toyo came in and jumped up on my bed and started to make muffins with his paws before laying down and closing his eyes. I took on my headphones and shook my head at how bratty they were. I mean, I did like watching reality shows because of the stupid sound effects they had in it but it got boring after a while. How good that there were multiple ones that you could waste your life on! I sipped on my tea and spun a bit on my chair and felt my muscles relax. This was life, Toyo on my bed, sitting in my chair, drinking tea and watching reality shows. I yawned and kept on watching. This was something that I should do more often really.
