Seven Minutes in Heaven

Chapter one

"I can't believe Carrie, of all people, invited us to the summer party up at the lake house." Keely squealed, sitting through her clothes.

"Yeah, I thought she hated us... you're not concerned this could be one of her bitchy jokes?" I ask my best friend. "Maybe," she said, coming back to me with clothes in hand.

"But, it's a party." She said. "Here, try this on." She shoved the clothing in my face, I recognized it almost immediately, she had gotten it for me last year but i 'left' it at her house. I reluctantly walked to the bathroom to try it on.

I pulled it over my head. The dress was navy blue with v neck slits on the sides and a diamond outline, was sleevless and was above th knee. I hate dresses, but damn I looked good.

I walked out and expected a squeal from keely but she just stood there, looking me up and down. "Mmmm, nah, I'll find another one." She said. My jaw dropped to the core of the earth. "What?!" I shouted.

"What? I don't like it." She said. "We'll I do, and it's my dress." I say back, crossing my arms. "Ugh, fine. I just wanted to wear it, it looks so fucking good!" She said. "I know." I say back.

After 30 minutes of her looking for a dress to suit her, she settled on a hot pink replica of my dress. "When did you get that?" I asked. "When I got that one for you that you 'accidently' left at my house." She said using air quotes.

We went downstairs, said bye to her parents, and left. It took 27 minutes to get to the lake house. It was HUGE. "Carrie always has the coolest shit." Keely said with a frown. I nodded and we went inside.

We floated around, danced, keely made out with some random guy. I swore to myself I wouldn't drink, but I had to get life out of my mind if I was going to have any fun.

"Hey everyone!!!" I heard Carrie shout into the mic over the DJ. What was the point of the microphone if you were going to tell anyways?

"Yeah?!" Everyone shouted back. "I've got an idea! Let's play TRUTH OR DARE." She said.

Cheers pretty much erupted, I'm surprised there wasn't an earthquake. Carrie could get the whole school to want to play a little children's game. I wasn't going to join in, but Keely insisted.

"FINNEEE, but you owe me." I said, slightly drunk from the 3 jello shots. She squealed and pulled me to the front room where a circle was formed. I stood with keely on my right and some guy on my left. I think he was in my 6th period at some point.

"Let's get started!" She shouted. Then she got a spinner and placed it in the middle of the 'cirlce'. "Whoever this lands on is asked truth or dare. If you don't follow through, you have to do shots!" She shouted, another eruption of cheers.

She spun the bottle, it landed on Nick, my crush. A warm feeling crept into my heart when he chose dare. Carrie tapped her chin as if she was thinking with her 'brain'. I dare you, tooooooo... Jump into the pool, naked." She said.

My brain went crazy, on one hand, gross, on the other, I'm a horny teenager, so eh. "Yeaaah, I'll do the shots." He said. Some of the girls groaned. He was the star quarterback, hotter than hell, and was ripped. He did the 2 shots and spun the bottle.

It landed on a random girl with long blonde hair. "Jamie, truth or dare." Nick asked her. "Truth." She said. An evil grin came upon nicks lips. "What's your craziest sex/makeout story?" He asked. Jamie, went red as a sunburnt tomato.

She looked as if she was going to take the shots but then she just spilled, "I was at my grandparents house and went for a walk, they live in Colorado. I met this guy and he walked with me then we ended up making out by a lake." She said quickly.

She swiftly walked yo the bottle and spun, many people went and one guy even jumped off the balcony into the lake, but after a while, it landed on keely, again. "Hey! I've already gone!" She pouted.

Carrie spoke up, "Ok new rule, if it lands on you and you've already gone it goes to the person on your left." I smiled, then that smile went away. I was on her left. "Oooh." Keely said with that same evil grin nick had. Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck I kept thinking.

"Truth or dare?" She asked. "Uhhhh, dare?" I said, instantly regreting it, how stupid was I?

"Ok, I dare you, to spin the bottle and whoever it lands on, you have to play 7 minutes in heaven with." She said grinning. She knew I'd never kissed anyone in my entire life, I guess that was about to change.

I spin the bottle and it seemed to go around in circles forever, thank God. It went around and around. Then, it stopped.
