Her phone sat on the bookshelf for days. It was completely dry. She Laid on her bed with dry tears on her face and an empty tissue box sitting next to her. Then, it buzzed. The phone lit up . She jumped from the bed. Was is it? Had it finally happened? She's been waiting for days, what felt like years. All she wanted was for him to message her , saying how sorry he was. How much he loved her, and valued their friendship. How much he cared about her, and how a little fight shouldn't end anything. He was the one. She was sure of it. He always made her laugh, he had these bright brown eyes and the largest dimples. His smile was contagious. She missed it. She used to go out of her way to glance at him in the hallway and now she went out of her way to avoid him. Oh how times have changed. She missed the smile they used to give eachother. She missed the movie nights and the inside jokes.
But everything has changed and everything is different now.
And nothing will ever be the same.
It wasn't him . How could it not be him? Did he not value their friendship the way she did? Did he not value it at all? It meant so much to her.. he meant so much to her. They had made a million memories together. He is the one she swore she wouldn't drift away from. How could this happen? She always looks back, wondering what she did or what she could've done. was this her fault? That's the problem with unspoken endings. You don't know why they happen. This is what he did to her. How could someone who once made her so happy make her so sad? She always told everyone he was her best friend or like a brother. Oh man, what a cover up. He was so much more than that, and he knew. But he never said he knew, because he didn't feel the same. And she knew he felt that way. She always wanted to tell him the undenying love she had for him but she couldn't bare what his response would be. They both knew what each one felt about eachother. They both chose too ignore it . He knew how much he meant to her, he'd use it for his own advantage. She knew he did too. Oh and it did break her heart. When he told her and everyone else about the 10 girls he had hung out with that last weekend . You know what she did? She laughed and made and joke and there it was. That big smile of his, and his obnoxious laugh. Which she always said was ugly out loud ,but she knew how happy it made her. Especially when she was the one making him laugh. At school, they were distant. Out of school, they were the closest they could get. Laughing and laughing is the only thing they did. They made eachother so happy. He can deny it , but he knows it's true. He didn't have to like her back but he couldn't say he didn't love being around her. You know what the worst was? When he told her he loved her. When he told her how happy she made him. How could he be surprised that she liked him? He basically asked for it. Just like the way he asked every other girl to like him. He was so likeable. And her? She didn't think anyone noticed her. Whenever they were together , she thought maybe he does. Maybe he likes her just as much as she likes him. He loved being liked, and she knows it. Sometimes she felt like he pretended to like her because, he wouldn't dare for her to not like him anymore. Maybe he can fake being in love with her , but he couldn't fake how happy she made him. she can't express how embarrassed she would be if he saw this. you know what the real embarrassing part would be? how he would know it's about him. there doesn't have to be names or anything. but he would know. he would remember, the memories, the inside jokes, and the movies nights. deep down she hopes he'll see this.
