Chapter 24: Getting Simon

Hey guys! Yes, it has been a while. And there's not much that I can say, I just hope you like this chapter. And yeah, thank you so much for sticking with this story.

Chapter 24
Getting Simon

The trio entered to see Jace fighting two vampires at once and Clary being grabbed by a vampire.

Alec, who had his bow and arrow ready beforehand went to shoot they vampire holding Clary.

The vampire simply turned Clary to use her as a shield. Alec simply shrugged and shot the wall instead, making a hole which allowed sunlight to pour into the room.

The vampire screamed as sunlight entered and let go of Clary in shock. Clary ran away and screamed as the vampire burst into flames.

Kiara gripped Isabelle's arm at the sight. Izzy squeezed her shoulder as Kiara took a deep but shaky breath and losened her grip.

Clary grabbed a seraph blade and killed one of the vampires Jace was previously fighting with while Jace did the same with the vampire he was fighting. The two looked at each other panting.

"I killed him." Clary said.

"He was already dead." Jace shrugged, still panting.

"Plus he wanted to kill you." Kiara piped in, walking towards her sister.

"She did great, right?" Izzy asked, joining the two girls.

"Yeah, You did." Jace agreed. "You should be proud." He told Clary as Kiara gave her sister a one sided hug.

"Thanks, but..." Clary started.

"Of course there's a but." Kiara sighed letting go.

"It's not about me." Clary continued ignoring the interruption. "We need to find Simon. Come on."

She turned around and walked ahead. Kiara stood back, letting everyone go ahead. Alec grabbed her wrist and pulled her as he moved forward.

"Hey! You can't do that!" She protested.

"But, I just did." He replied simply, ignoring her struggles to free her wrist as he moved forward, pulling her along.

The five of them walked around, looking for Simon before finally finding the correct room.

"Simon!" Clary yelled as she spotted him and went to run towards him.

"Clary!" Kiara said, rubbing her forearm.

"That's not going to do him any good." Jace added.

"Listen to him, Clary Fairchild." The vampire holding a knife to Simon's throat said.

"Put that away." The vampire told them, glancing at the seraph blades. "I've had more than enough of your friend for one day. I'd love to cut his throat. Don't give me a reason."

Jace, Clary And Kiara reluctantly put away their weapons

"Simon." Clary said. "Are you alright?" She asked.

"I wouldn't say alright-" Simon started, making Kiara roll her eyes.

"Stop talking." The vampire told Simon, pressing the knife closer. "Now, if you would all just follow me." He told the shadowhunters, moving backwards. "Let's go." He urged.

The five exchanged looks before following him out of the room and then upstairs.

Kiara blanked out at she quietly followed, lost in the thoughts of all she lost and all that she was about to gain. All up until the vampire yelled at them to open the door and leave.
