Good and evil are never as black and white as we think.
When nightmares come true, what would you do?
Tya Swart is an average college student with the desire to get good grades and get the heck out of school, but fate has other ideas... or rather he...
Darkness engulfed me in swirling images of flashing silver teeth and claws.
I felt a force pulling me upwards as if dragging me from the depths of a dark ice-cold lake. Air filled my lungs in a sharp stinging gasp and my eyes snapped open to the view of a dusty warehouse ceiling and a salty metallic stench stung my nose.
I slowly and groggily sat up, only to widen my eyes as I saw the carnage surrounding me. Bodies littered the floor of the warehouse, women and men all covered in blood, missing limbs and chunks of flesh, their faces frozen in horror, mouths agape and some staring out without eyes. Ruby fluid pooled around their corpses, seeming to create an ocean of blood on the warehouse floor that had seeped into my clothes.
As the shock settled, I keeled over and heaved dryly as there was nothing in my stomach to be brought up to mingle with the blood soaking the cement floor. Who would do something so horrible? What could do something so horrible? What was I even doing in a warehouse? My mind reeled with questions that I couldn't find any answers to. Why was I here?
I was suddenly hit by the realisation that there were no people around nor were there the sounds of people moving about outside the warehouse, which meant that no one knew about this carnage. I quickly patted down the pockets of my bloodied jeans, searching for my cell phone.
Upon finding it in my back pocket, I tried to dial 911 but my hands were shaking so much from the shock that I failed several times before I managed to type the number in correctly and waited while the dial tone rang.
"911, what is your emergency?"
My voice cracked as I responded, "Something horrible has happened."

Three hours later, I was being marched through the Los Angeles Police Department and led towards a prison cell. As the officer who arrested me was about to close the cell door, I turned on him.
"Why have you arrested me?! I didn't do this!" I cried.
"There's no evidence to support your claim to innocence, but there could be enough to make you a suspect," he said.
"But I woke up to that scene!"
"You expect me to believe that you woke up there, completely unharmed and covered in the blood of the victims?" The officer scoffed.
"I called the emergency services and stayed there until you arrived," I pointed out.
The officer shrugged, "You'll have to convince a judge of that."
"How could I have done it? I'm about a hundred and seventy six centimetres tall. That's what? Five foot seven, five foot eight or around about? So, explain how I could kill a person taller and heavier than me in that way, let alone a warehouse full of physically fit workers?" I demanded, feeling the hysterics nipping at my fragile mind.
