Look around.

Everyone you see

is wearing a mask.

Life is a movie

and we are the actors.

All pretending to be

something we're not; 

afraid to show the world

who we really are.

We love the wrong people

because they tell us to.

We smile

to hide the hurt.

We go too far

because people say it's cool.

We do everything

for the approval of others.

When will we start doing things

to please ourselves. 

When will we find the courage

to take off the masks.
