I awaken from my slumber. I turn around and face the wall with the huge window putting my view of New York City on display. I see the bright yellow taxis passed by my apartment complex. I toss and turn to find my phone on my nightstand. The bright sunlight beams onto my pale, sleepy face. I squint my eyes as I pull the phone off of its charger.

One new message from Bea: WAKE UP SLEEPY HEAD!!! IT'S SUNDAY!!!

Me: Yeah, I know it's Sunday. It's not like I go to church like you do!

Bea: Yea, Y don't U go to church?

Me: I just don't believe in that stuff....

Bea: Oh....well, i gtg. The service is about to start.

I put my phone down and just lay there in complete silence. For after what seems like forever, I hear the door creak open. My kitten, Echo, slides through the crack he made. I sit up and pick up the small kitten, I set him on my stomach and he lays down. I smile as he purrs and rolls around to get a comfortable spot. I suddenly feel a sharp pain pierce my spine. I cry in agony and pain. I put Echo on the cold, hardwood floor. I try and crawl to the bathroom sink. I finally reach the bathroom sink and pull myself up. I feel another sharp pain stretch down my back. I start feeling the cold tears run down my face. I put my head down and cry the raindrops pour from my cloudy eyes. I feel bumps pull the muscles out of my back. I look up and see the wings of an angel on my back. I see the delicate feathers decorate my wings like Christmas ornaments on a tree. I stare at them in the mirror with admiration. I never thought this was possible. Angels aren't real. This is just a dream.....right?

I try to get to the door, wings dragging behind me. I twist the golden door handle and push the door open I fall to the ground and turn onto my side. I slip into a deep sleep. I know it can't be a coma. I hope that it is just me passing out from being overwhelmed.

I wake up from my sleep seeing a bright light in my eyes. I squint my eyes, as the light blinds me for a few moment. I am still lying in the place I was when I passed out. I try to stand up and get on my feet again. I still feel that weight on my back. I limp to the bathroom again to take some pain medication. I reach into the medicine cupboard and grab some ibuprofen. I untwist the cap of the bottle and pour out two pills. I put the pills in my mouth and swallow them whole. I close the bottle the pills were formally in and put it back in the cupboard. I close its door and start to turn around.. As my face turns to leave the room, I see that all I am wearing is a white dress, that perfectly fits around my wings. I look at it in awe and I smile. I quickly fall in love with the dress itself. It makes me actually believe now. I believe that this is a lesson to teach me that he is real. I walk out of the room and start crying. I hear the door open and see Bea in the doorway.

"Love, why are you crying?"

I wipe my tears, run to her, and fling my arms around her.

"You were right," I reply, tears rolling down my face, like raindrops from a cloud.

"About what?" She asks, confused.

"He is real....I was wrong all along. I have suddenly got wings like one of those angels you have been telling me about for three weeks!" I say, still in tears.

"Who is real?" She asks, still confused.

"God. He made me an angel, not even 3 hours ago," I weakly state.

"Love, you can't possibly be dead, you are still here with me now. Right?" She asks.

"I am still alive, I just have wings and suddenly changed into a white dress!" I say.

"I see the wings, where is the dress though?" She questions.

"Can you not see it?"

She shook her head no and I look away.

"Are you ok?"

I ignore her, and start to walk away from her.

"Answer me, Ariel!"

I continue walking away, only partially hearing her. She runs to me and tries to stop me in my tracks.

"Ariel, can you hear me?"

I honestly can't hear her. All I see is her lips parting and putting them back together.

"ARIEL!!!" Bea tries to scream, tears starting to roll down her cheeks like a ball down a steep hill.

Bea falls to the ground, sobbing, at least I think she is crying? She tries gasping for breath, but she isn't able to. I can feel her sadness. She feels angry and stressed. I get on my knees and hold her. She hugs me and we sit there in silence. Pure silence.

After what seems like 5 minutes I feel soundwaves of what seems like snoring. I look at Bea's face and see her sleeping peacefully. I pick her up, throw her upon my shoulders and walk to my room. I open the door and look at the messed up bed from earlier in the day. I walk in the room and feel the fuzzy black carpet under my feet. I pause and wiggle my toes and feel the softness go through my toes. I continue walking and move the blankets covering my bed, with the girl dangling from my shoulder. I place Bea on my bed and put the blankets over her body. I look at my alarm clock and see the time is about 9:43 at night. I walk over to the other side of the bed and crawl under the covers. My wings dangle over the bed just a bit, but I am comfortable where I am. I close my eyes and drift off into the most peaceful state, most people call sleep.
