Chapter 1

"No way!" that was me.

It was a Saturday and as always in the summer break my best friend Kayla was sleeping over, sometimes these things last from two days to a week, it all depends on the mood of our mothers. We were currently located in my room, wearing sweats and a t-shirt as usual Kayla wanted to do something I did not approve of but sounded fun and exciting.

"Come on I'll help you and we'll be back before she wakes up, come one please we've never been caught before." It was passed midnight around one or two and she wanted to climb out my window onto the roof of the deck in the backyard and walk around my neighborhood. Kayla was not the type to take no for an answer and no matter how stubborn I was, when I was with her it never mattered she always got her way and she knew it, but if she would push me too hard I would become annoyed and ruin her fun by complaining during the whole thing, so she played it cool as always, or most of the time anyway.

"Fine, but we are going to go where I say and were coming back when I say." I gave in, again.

"Okay, but lets go." Liar, she might say that now but other than the time of our return she was totally in control of this trip and most of our other trips.

"This is going to be fun, God its been a long time since I had some fun." I said climbing out my window after Kayla. I was the one taking care of Bryan and the house, my mother worked long hours and she worked hard to support us and that was the only thing I could do since getting a job in this economy that wasn't a total waste of your time was practically impossible.

"Come on slow poke, this way." She was already climbing down onto the deck.

"You know I'm not good with heights." Usually wasn't a problem but climbing ladders and roller coasters but it wasn't some major phobia.

"Yeah, yeah just hurry up, come on I'll help you."

Always do, I thought but I didn't say anything just climbed down and followed her out my back yard. We walked around to places I've never visited even though I've lived here for about three, four years, she scared me, made me want to kill her, made me regret I even listened to her and left my house, but to sum that all up I had fun. The climb up was way harder than the one down and since she had to help me up I went fist and pulled her halfway up after, we left my window a crack open so we could open it without any trouble but closed enough not to be suspicious. By the time we were in my room changed into pajamas and watching The Greatest Classic Films Collection, it was almost five in the morning. We fell asleep not long after that, when I woke up Kayla was still sleeping. It was always like that I didn't need a lot of sleep for some reason most of the time when I stayed up late I woke up not long after my usual time. It was about 10, I was really hungry, so I went down and found mom drinking coffee and watching TV. I went into the kitchen and ate a small plate of cereal because when Kayla would wake up we usually ate something crazy that contained a lot of sugar.

I went back into the living room and sat down on the couch beside my mom.

"Good morning sleepy." She said smiling. I snuggled up beside her and said "Morning, you seem to be in a good mood today."

"I'm in a good mood any day I don't have to work." She smiled pulling me closer.

"What do you girls want to do today?"

"If you let us, we might want to go to the movies."

"We'll see, but there shouldn't be any reason for you guys not to go."
