The evening sky is beautiful. The way the orange from the sun meets the blue sky just seems so natural, normal. Staring at it makes me feel like we are back in a time where there are no zombies and I'm not monster. Oh how I wish that I could go back to then, where all I worried about were my school grades and what people thought of me.

I am snapped out of my day dream when the door of the small drab room opens behind me. "Ali, they're all here" I hear my best friend Fidelis' voice say from behind me.

I close my eyes, removing the beautiful sight of the setting sun. I take a deep breath, preparing myself for the role I am about to take. I turn on my heel slowly and open my eyes to see Fidelis standing in a very formal way with her hands behind her back. "Please don't make this formal" I almost plead with her. She takes her arms away and pats down her clothes awkwardly. "Don't do that either Fid, you are my friend not my subject"

"I know, you have reminded me of this since the day we got here. But I must say that the others can't see any weakness in you Ali or they'll try and take you down." Fidelis explains guiltily.

"You're saying that if I show my friendship that they will consider me weak?" I ask. Before she can answer me I continue. "I'm not sure it quite works that way, you all have the first instinct to protect me"

"I know that but not everyone follows their first instinct Alexandra. Some of those people out there are known criminals. Half of them must have been taken from a jail to be turned into dreads" Fidelis explains. This is going to be a lot harder then I originally thought.

"Well it looks like I'm needed then" I say as I throw on a black jacket. I tie my red hair back and walk towards the door.
