In Twilight town, people are assigned numbers by the mayor once they become a citizen, once every two months, a group of people are chosen to be sent to the factory once their number gets pulled. A few weeks later the people in the groups show up missing. This has caused rumors to spread, people sent to work there, being forced to obey no matter what. Another rumor came up, saying that maybe the whole kingdom Factory, never existed at all, and it was a cover-up for the people who were deported from the town. None could be proven true despite asking the town mayor.

Two months later, Sora, Roxas and Ventus had their numbers come up as they were put in with a group of 5 people. Their friends, as well as Yen Sid, tried to stop the men in suits from taking them, but to no avail, as the mayor made them stop, for if they didn't, they'd be arrested.

Months after Sora,Ventus, and Roxas had their numbers picked, they were missing like the rest. A year later they were announced dead, which upset their friends, Xion and Namine refused to eat, Lea stayed in his room staring at the ceiling, Aqua so distraught tried jumping off the train station but Terra caught her just in time, eventually Aqua refused to leave her bedroom along with Riku.

2 years have passed, as Kairi is seen walking home after a long day at school. Despite her being in the present, her mind is still thinking about back then..

Letting out a sigh Kairi continues her walk home.

"I'm home!" Kairi slung her backpack to the side of the entrance, as she walked past to the kitchen.

"Welcome home Kairi." Isa looked up from his book as Kairi opened the fridge.

"Has Aqua left her room yet?"

"Nope, she's still in her room." Isa and Kairi looked over to see Terra enter the room carrying some empty bowls. "Hadn't been the same since... You know when he- I mean, when they all went missing. And a year after, when they were announced dead... It was terrifying having to run to try to grab her, before she tried jumping off the train station."

"Yeah," Isa said as he flipped through his book. "I wouldn't blame her for trying to take her life. Axel- I mean Lea is still shook up from losing Roxas. Naminé and Xion would barely eat if we didn't make them. And how's Riku doing?" Kairi opened her mouth to speak but closed it. She hasn't seen Riku since Sora was confirmed missing- later dead. But she knows he's alive since, Yen Sid enters his room with food, so she thinks he's still in his room like Aqua. Kairi let out a sigh as she closed the fridge, and went to check on Riku.

"Hey," Kairi started as she sat next to him. "How're you doing?"
For a moment, all that could be heard was their breathing. The air remained thick with the tension that came with his hesitant answer. Finally, Riku's breath faltered. With a shaky exhale, he shook his head, still refusing to meet her gaze. Gently, Kairi laid a hand on his, giving him a soft look of concern, although she could definitely understand what he was feeling.

"I understand, I miss him too." Kairi looked at Riku's bedside table, at a picture of her,Sora, and Riku from three years ago having a picnic with the rest of their friends.

"I just don't understand though," Riku started sounding a bit upset. "Why didn't they look in the Kingdom Factory! They were sent there right...right?"

Kairi looked away, closing her eyes as Riku shook his head before exhaling again.

"I just wish they looked harder, that's all."
Riku wrapped an arm around Kairi, who laid her head on his shoulder as they both sat in silence.

"Kai wake up. It's almost time for the numbers to be called." Kairi sat up as she rubbed her head, before going to get ready.

After getting dressed, she walked out into the kitchen and sat down next to Namine, who was just absentmindedly playing with her food.
