Life isn't a fairytale. You can't just rub a magic lamp for a genie to appear and grant you three wishes. Or open the door to find your prince charming holding your glass slipper, patiently wait for you to run away with him. Although you may hope to find that lamp and wish for your prince it most likely will never happen. Reality happens. In reality here is no happy ever after. Reality. It's funny how it works. We go to school for 12 years just go to for another four and then end up sitting in a cubicle on a computer doing paper work. That's reality.

I use to never believe in love. Notice that I said use to. As in past tense. I never thought that love exists as it has never existed in my life. I grew up without my parents. My mom comes and goes as she please. As of Robert, my dad, I haven't seen or heard from him in years. Last time I checked he was smuggling drug into the boarder. I live with my aunt. She is always busy. She is a manager and a breakfast waitress at the local diner, Johnny's. I work there with her as it is our family's business. My great grandfather opened it as a breakfast joint and passed it down to my grandmother and now on to my aunt. We keep the name for nostalgic purpose.

My aunt took me in when my mom left. She really tries to give me the life I deserve but honestly I want the same for her. She was 17 when my mom left. My grandparents weren't around and she had to grow up too fast. Sometimes I wish I was left somewhere else so she could live her life. She is my rock. My hope in life.

Aunt Katie and I live in her childhood home. It's small but durable. It is a small olive tinted house with three bedrooms and two baths. My aunt upgraded a lot of things and made it look ten times better than what it did when she was growing up.

Many things in life come and go and leave us either hurt or damaged. It can either take us to the darkest places or make us want to strive to be better. With that, in school I am an honor roll student. I play as many sports as I can joined almost every single club. No one in my school knows about my past except Margo.

Margo and I have been best friends since kindergarten. She is basically my soulmate. Margo and I have similar but total opposite story's. Margo' s family was big and loving. Only her dad was an alcoholic. He would beat on her mom and eventually they got a divorce. Margo's mom has been raising her and her two brothers since alone. It's similar because we went through heartbreak at a very younger age. Around the same time. It's so different because Margo is still loved by both. Her dad comes to visit and he got the help he needed. It broke her though. She doesn't trust.

As of me, my name is Veronica. Everyone calls me Roni.
And I am broken.
