Evan laid his foot on the brick wall, taking a cigarette and lighting it keeping it perched on his lips. He puffed the smoke out as he sighed. His addiction had started only about a month or so and so far he found no motivation to stop. Who knew that without someone you could go spiraling into something that you couldn't climb out of? Well, if he's going to have it for a while, let's name it - depression.

Suddenly, angered and frightened shouts echoed through the alleys and to his ears. It sounded as if there was only two people, with one being attacked and one being the attacker. Being the idiot trying to play hero, he ran towards the source, forgetting all about the drug he despised yet still used.

His feet pounded around turns, his red jacket lifting off his back. He dug himself into the ground as he came to the back of a man's covered head. His arm was held up with something in his grip pointing at the victim's head.

A gun.

He sneaked closer to the man, wary of his footing with the garbage strewn about. The man whispered lightly but filled with menace. "Give me your money or I'll fucking shoot." His thumb moved and clicked off the safety lock.

Panic signals flared inside of Evan. What should he do? Call the police? Try to fend off the attacker then call the police? His brain seemed to shut off as he stepped closer to the mugger.

The CanAsian was noticed by the victim only seconds before he slammed the butt of his own pistol onto the man's temple. He flopped to the floor with nothing giving off he was bleeding, the black ski mask covering his face.

The other person walked towards his savior and thanked him. "No problem man. Just need to turn this guy in." His foot kicked the random guy's head, receiving a groan in return. The other man turned and began to leave when Evan stopped him.

"Hey, what's your name?" He questioned.

"Oh, sorry. I'm Tyler."

"Don't sweat it. I'm Evan"

The taller man grinned, any trace of fright gone. "Thanks again!" He waved, jogging his way out of the maze of buildings. Before Evan could respond, Tyler was gone. He pulled out his phone and dialed 911.

Little did he know they would become something other then just acquaintances.

(Wanna know what's annoying me? How I can't tab and indent. You probably don't care and that's fair. Anyway, this is the last you'll see of these (probably) Sorry this is short. It's a Prologue anyway)
