Katrina scrolled aimlessly on her phone, looking for something decent to read. All the books on her phone weren't interesting enough. She'd had enough of sappy love stories and cringey romance novels. It was about time she wrote her own. oh And that was when she found Sam.

Samuel Golbach, the blonde viner boy who made a living from having fun with his best friend and roommates. What a life to live, eh? Kat thought so. She had very little knowledge on the boy when they first met, it was her friend, Jane who first suggested they go out and meet new folks. Turns out, that was Jane's best idea yet.

The night started out at a small restaurant in Los Angeles, not far from Kat's house. The girls walked in and were greeted by two attractive young men who didn't seem particularly interested in either of them. But Kat didn't mind. It let her know they weren't fuckboys.

They had a basic conversation on each others background and what they're doing out in LA. Kat was mesmerised by how young they wee yet how wealthy the boys were! It was amazing.  And in an effort to get to know everyone, the tallest of the two, decided to play a simple game called "questions". In which each person got 10 questions to ask each individual person. Any question of their choice and the other had to answer in full truth. The brunette started by interviewing Jane.

He asked about her love life, home town and pretty much went over everything we just discussed. Clearly not trying to make a move on the girl.

Kat volunteered to go next. Her eyes became fixated on the blonde, who'd stayed silent for the majority of the night. He wasn't paying much attention and spent a lot of time fidgeting with his hands or hair. Kat begged for him to make some kind of communication to her but alas he spoke no words other than what he felt was necessary.

The night rolled on and eventually it was time for them to part ways. The brunette, who Kat learned was called Colby, thanked them for their time and gave them both a friendly hug, handing flowers out to both ladies as a kind gesture. The blonde stood and raised a hand in an effort to say goodbye, feeling trapped in anxiety.

The girls walked away, holding their flowers close to their chests. Treasuring the moment. On the walk home, Kat asked Jane if she was interested in any of the guys. Jane shook her head and returned the question to Kat.

'Maybe.' She said. Winking at her bestie.

Jane's face lit up, eager to know more! She poked and poked at Kat until she finally gave in and told her.

'I really like the shy one, okay!'

Kat giggled.

'He's a cutie.'

Jane hugged her best friend and told her to go after him, before getting in her car and driving off. Leaving Kat to walk up and into her apartment, alone.

Quietly, she unlocked the door, careful to not disturb her roomie, Ellie. But that didn't matter because Ellie didn't appear to even be in the house. She shouted her name but no reply. So, into her room she went.

Kat lay down and kicked off her heels, letting out a gentle sigh of relief as her feet got a breathe of fresh air and got to relax. She unzipped her dress and let it fall to the ground, then dressed herself in grey sweatpants and an oversized black tee. Pulling the entire outfit together with a messy bun. Perfect for laying around and carelessly falling asleep whenever she gets tired.

She took out her phone and plugged it in, seeing a small notification appear at the top of her screen.

Hey, it's Colby. Thanks for the amazing night, hope to see you girls again soon.

Kat smiled and sent him a quick reply.

Sure thing, loved the drinks xx

He wouldn't think that was too forward would he? She didn't want to send the wrong message across.

Haha, agreed!

She sent a smiley face and closed down her texts for the night, and went straight to Instagram. She typed up "Colby" and sure enough up popped both his and Sam's profiles.

Intrigued, she began looking through Sam's account. He didn't have a girlfriend and Kat saw that as a major opportunity. Cute blonde boy who hasn't got a girlfriend? She didn't see that very often. But it got her thinking.

Was there a reason he didn't have a girl to call his own?

Crazy thoughts of doubt started to swirl around her head until she got dizzy. She let out a deep breathe and made the logical decision to just brush her teeth and go to bed.

On her way out her room, she saw Ellie. Ellie stopped her to talk about her "date".

'How was it?' Ellie asked.

'Pretty good, the boys are actually decent, I wouldn't mind getting to know them more.'

'Let me know if one of them is single!'

Kat laughed.

'They both are. But between you and me, the blonde one is mine!'

Ellie's eyes widened as the words spilled from Kat's mouth.

'Oh my God, do have a crush on him?'

Although Kat knew the answer to this, she said she wasn't sure.

Because truthfully, she really wasn't sure. After all, Colby was good looking too. But there was just something about that blonde...
