Aliyah makes her way down the dusty path through the narrow wood forest, the sticks poking her feet as she goes, making sure she watches her step to make sure she does not step on any of the Cran, these little lizards that scurry around the forest.
She is almost home when she stops by the pond 20 feet in front of her cottage to get a drink from the crystal clear water, she can see the flowers that have sprouted in the bottom.
She has lived here her entire life yet she still treats it like its brand new. Always being careful with the flowers and that's in front of it.
The walls of flower only leave a small path to her house, which was small and cozy. Just enough for her. As she walks down the path from the pond she picks a few flowers for the boutique on her table inside.
"Ahh, Theo! You know how I feel when you just let yourself in" Aliyah says
"I know I'm sorry but I have news," Theo says now walking over
"If there was news I would know about it" Aliyah walks over and grabs the vase from the table and sets it on the table.
Aliyah grabs a knife and cuts the flower so they fit in the vase.
"Daywalkers, In city, " Theo says getting closer
Aliyah stops in her tracks almost dropping the vase, "What?"
"They have come," Theo says
"I doubt it," Aliyah says annoyed, "There is no way for them to break out"
Aliyah sets the vase down on the table. "There is the only way they will survive in our world...the breath of fire " Aliyah explains.
"I know and that's why we can't let them get it," Theo says. "Please! come back"
"I told you. I left that life behind" Aliyah sighs
"There is only one way we can beat them," Theo says as Aliyah reaches for the door.
"Like I said I'm not going back"
"I know why you left! I would too" Theo rushes to say "Than you will understand why I'm not going back"
Theo grabs Aliyah's arm. "Please don't I'm not in the mood" Aliyah pulls away and walks out.
No one understands her, no one will. They don't know what she went through in the capital. That's why she moved out here...for the peace and to not be bothered. Theo likes to visit her sometimes, she knows she likes him but she can't fall back in love again.
Aliyah hears the door close behind her but she keeps walking.
Her footsteps echo through the trees and back. The sticks that snap under her feet sound like trees breaking. The forests silence was her favorite. It's something she never had a few years ago.
Aliyah lets her guard down in here. The snap of a twig and the ruffle of a bush comes from close by, Aliyah whips around and takes out the dagger that she always has with her.
A bunny hops out of the bushes and Aliyah takes a sigh of relief. "Azami! You scared the crap out of me! You know not t sneak up on me like that"
The bunny is no longer a bunny but a human with horns and a tail. She is wearing a silky pink shirt and a long flowing skirt and her wings drift in the wind. "I'm sorry, I was not trying too," Azami says.
Aliyah looks her up and down, "Why were you a bunny?" Aliyah asks confused.
"I'm trying to find you. I figured you would be in the forest most likely"
