Chapter 9 - I Know She's Alive

The 2 set off once again. In high hopes that hopefully, just hopefully, they'd find exactly what they were looking for. They searched for hours upon hours. But still, there was no sign of anything. No sign of anyone ever living there. Night fell, and the 2 settled down for the night. Poppy was very quiet. Just staring at that picture of her mother. "You OK?" Branch asked in concern. Poppy didn't say anything. She just nodded and continued to stare at the picture. Branch got up and walked to her. He cupped her chin and said "Listen, I know you're upset about your mother. But we can't give up now." "Branch, we've been searching for days. We've found no sign of her." Poppy replied depressingly. Branch looked down at her. He couldn't bear to see his besets friend in the whole world like this. "No. We aren't giving up. Nobody ever said we can't. We will find her. Let's try 1 more day. Please. I hate seeing you like this." He said convincingly. Poppy looked up at him and gave a faint smile. "You really think she's alive?" She asked in a quiet tone. "I dint think she's alive. I know she's alive." Branch said confidently. Poppy stood up and gave Branch a great big hug. "Thank you Branch. I don't know where I'd be without you." She said in gratitude. "Probably spider food." Branch replied sarcastically. They both laughed and went to bed. The next morning, they got out a map and planned to search the most unknown places and the places that they hadn't searched. The setoff once more. This time, Poppy was more optimistic than ever. They searched every where. EVERYWHERE. Until they came across some foot prints
