So I'm gonna unpublish this story so i can rewrite it because when i first started writing this book i didn't really have have a story in mind. Now that I've actually come up with an interesting plot i wouldn't want to make the mistake of having a teen romance as the main focus of the story while there's so much going on in the background.
I watched the movie Valerian a while back and I really didn't see anything special about the movie. I didn't understand why it got such high praise and in fact, I hated the movie. It was for the same reason i hated the Twilight saga. We were forced to focus on the unstable, mediocre relationship of a boring young couple while there was so much going on in the movie itself but we couldn't focus on the plot for five minutes without the two main characters getting lovey dovey.
Some movies or shows or fics with romance somewhere in them do a good job of balancing the romance and the main plot so that the audience isn't overwhelmed by either or so that they get the full story on both topics. With the way i was writing this story, it was on it's way to becoming one of those stories that goes, "and so they had one week to save the universe, but back to their first kiss uwu 😍" and honestly that the exact kind of story i want to avoid writing.
I've been really busy with school lately so I'm not sure when the next update will be out, thanks for reading.
