Love- Samya.Jackson - February 10, 2018

Love, which just so happens to be a noun, is the intense feeling of deep affection.

Love, a Netflix original.

Lovesick, also a Netflix original.

Everyone wants love, I just want to be left alone.

So many are here for love, so many pursue love.

I'm just here for Netflix and popcorn, and the only thing I'm pursuing is my ever-growing Netflix list until I'm finished with it.

I've never cared much for lovey-dovey people, I hate PDA, I hate any physicality.

That was until I met him, the love of my life, or so I thought.

He was the epitome of my love.

I was the epitome of his annoyance.

Aaron Canada, the most beautiful being I've set my brown eyes.

Aaron Canada, my brother's best friend.

Aaron Canada, off limits.

I met Aaron when I was a freshman in high school and my brother was a freshman in college.

He brought Aaron home During Christmas break because Aaron doesn't like his own family for whatever reason.

When I first laid eyes on Aaron, I knew.

Knew that he was the love of my life.

Knew that he was someone I could look at every second of every day and never tire of looking at him.

Our first conversation went a little like:

"Hey, you must be Noel's little sister, Baxley," he said.

"Yeah, and who are you," I asked in complete shock that someone as beautiful as him was even acknowledging a peasant such as myself.

"I'm Aaron Canada," he said.

"Canada, like the country," I snorted, showing him that I could be as vain as he was beautiful.

"And there goes a joke I've never heard before," he said as he walked away, annoyed.

And then began Aaron's aversion of me.

It took me four and a half years to weasel my way back into Aaron's good graces.

That conversation went a little like:

"Hey, Baxley," Aaron said, pulling my attention away from the television.

"Yes, Aaron," I said, giving him my undivided attention.

"So, I've asked your brother to marry me," Aaron said.

Basically, everything that escaped his lips after that went unheard.

'Why would he propose to Noel.'

'But he's the love of my life.'

Those were some of the thoughts that ran through my head after hearing those heart shattering words.

"Baxley, have you heard anything I've said," Aaron said, tapping my shoulder lightly.

'Yes, unfortunately,' I wanted to say, but I didn't.

"Uh, no. What was it again," I asked.

"I want you to be the ring bearer at mine and Noel's wedding." he said.

My mouth went completely dry and I felt like a fish out of water.

"Uh, sure," being the only words I could emit.

So basically, the moral of this story is don't fall in love with your brother's "best friend".

But I guess things turned out okay, because I now have a Canada of my own.

Aaron Canada's brother, Eric Canada.
