Chapter 1

Tori's POV at age six

"Victoria! I told you to come in 5 minutes ago!" Mama said.

"5 more minutes mama!" I said back.

"...... Fine. 5 more minutes!" She said.

She went back inside and talked to papa. After a minute, I could already hear shouting.

"I don' wanna go home! Mama and Papa are always shouting!" I said to Jake.

"Me too. I don't even know why they are still together!" Said Jake, who was a year older than me.

"You want your mama and papa to break up?" I asked, wide eyed.

In response, he shook his head making his dark curly brown hair to bounce from side to side.

"No, I love them too much." He replied.

"Yeah, I love mine too much too." I said.

"That's the problem, we always love more." He said.

I thought about this and soon enough, I had a reply for his statement.

"But isn't it because they love us more than each other the reason they are still together?"

".... Yeah, I guess." He said.

We both went quiet and watched the sunset as the moon climbed slowly up and it was too dark for either of us to be outside.

"Jake!" Jake's mother called out the same time mama called out "Victoria!"

"Guess its time to go." Jay said.

"Yeah." I said.

"Bye Tori." He said to me.

"Bye Jay." I said back.

We hugged and parted as we walked from the small park to our houses which were right next to each other. We both opened the door, looked and gave each other a sad, small smile, and then walked briskly into the hell we called home. But what I heard was far more worse than any hell in the world. 

I had just closed the door and slipped into my bed when I heard them say it next door.

"What should we do then, huh?! Because I haven't got a clue! I f you want to save this broken marriage then tell me, what should we do?!" Papa shouted.

"...I....I don't know. How... how about moving?" Mama suggested.

"Moving?" Papa asked with astonishment in his voice.

"I mean.... all the bad memories are in this town, all around us. Maybe if we relocate we can let go of the past and think about.... the future. My future, your future, our future, Tori's future. We can start again and all it needs is your permission."

"So you're saying we should forget Tyler?" Papa asked, the astonishment in his voice rising.

"No sweetie, no, no, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying...... lets start again. We should forget about the past but not the lessons we've learnt. Like the lessons with Tyler. We won't make the same mistake we did with Tyler on Tori. But there's no guarantee that what happened with Tyler will happen again if Tori is still here. We have to move." Mama said.

"It will break her heart...." Papa said.

"I know but by the time that the Little Twins are grown up, they would have forgotten about each other. Like how Tori forgot about Tyler." Mama said.

Little Twins. I don't know why they called us that. Jake is short with long-ish dark brown hair. He had emerald green eyes and only one dimple on the left side. Whereas I had have aqua eyes - thanks to my father- and long curly blonde hair and two dimples. But I guess its because of our personalities. We were cheerful and happy, despite what was happening at home. Because I was taller and more daring, I was called Twin 1 and Jake, Twin 2.

And I would never forget Jake. He's my best friend.

I heard papa sigh and I already knew the answer. My heart broke and I let the tears fall as papa agreed and they talked about where we were going to live, education and all those other things. And mama was both right and wrong. I forgot all  about Jake except this picture I have of him in  my locket. It was of me and Jake in the middle of laughing at each other, eyes closed with sand in our hair. But the marriage didn't go as planned. Papa rarely came home and mama always traveled, leaving me with a babysitter until I was 13. When mama and papa came home, they always argued and rarely spoke to each other unless I was with them.

And I never saw Jake Anderson again.

I know the first chapter is short but it will grow longer as it goes. Give the story a try!
