I wake up with another headache. I had a nightmare last night, I had seen my real parents burn but they had no faces, it was strange. I ponder about my dream for a few seconds and I take my arm out of the silk covers, I felt no pain where the wound was which is weird.

I had a lot of explaining to do with my parents when I came home yesterday. They were really worried at first but I had already calm them down.

I open the cloth where the wound was and I saw nothing. No blood no scratches. This was weird, it must be the ointment that the nurse put in. Maybe I'll ask what she used on me.

I take a scan at the alarm clock. Damnit I over slept again. Luckily, I'll be walking to school. Jacob had to go to his dad in the hospital. His dad was confined in the hospital because he had a cancer issue for several years now.

Ding! My phone had a text message. It's from Jacob, 'I'll be back at school during lunch time. xoxo'. I texted him back saying to take all the time that he needs. Walking to the bathroom with a headache was annoying.

I feel refreshed after that bath, having the glitter bath bomb in my tub makes this whole day so much better. I had a bathrobe on and I walk to my closet. I see that my mom dry cleaned my favourite top which was the crop top that had a white jacket on top. It is cold here in Philadelphia this time of the year.

I look at my bag and run towards the couch in my bedroom where its placed. "Why is my bag so heavy?" I ask myself. I smell mom's famous club sandwiches. They tasted like heaven, they were perfect.

I didn't even care that my bag was heavy, I switch off the lights in my room. I notice that it was already turned off. I switch it back up hoping that it wasn't broken. Just my luck, it was broken. But how? I had just replaced the lights in my room last month.Guess I'll just buy another one. I remember the club sandwiches and I hurry out of the room.

"Morning mom, morning dad!" I kiss them in the cheeks having to run in front of the club sandwiches. Before my parents could say anything I take one of the fine decorated sandwiches into my big mouth. "Woah. You look like you haven't eaten for days, pumpkin." I hear my dad say across the kitchen counter. I roll my eyes playfully while mom giggles, in a peaceful manner.

"The lights are broken in my room, dad." I say, still eating the sandwich and grabbing another one from the plate, putting it inside my paper bag for lunch. "Really? Didn't we just replace your lights last month? But no worries, i'll take care of it." My dad says confidently.

He kisses my forehead and walks up to the stairs leading to my bedroom. "Oh! Come on sweetheart your late!" My mom said while she bounced a little while holding a butter knife at her left hand. She takes my bag from the kitchen counter where I left it a few moments ago. She puts it on me and leads me to the front door, I feeling her gentle hands on my back.

"Bye sweetie," she mumbled and she kisses my forehead. I look forward and see the ways going to school. I could take the way where Jacob and I went but it would take at least 30 minutes walking. I'd rather take the other way towards the forest.

It has probably been 10 minutes since I entered Elk neck state forest. People, including Jacob were scared of this forest and I could never understand why.
