Hey guys this is going to be my first book so good luck to me
So my name is Taylor Lebar and I'm 10(age changes throughout the book) and I live in Melbourne Victoria Australia and I really don't like living here but hey that's life, I have 2 sisters and they mean the world to me I have my mother and my dad who I love even though the rough times. Today was my birthday I was turning 11 and I was really happy because I was gonna get lots of presents:TIME SKIP: I was in bed thinking of what a great day I had, I got some clothes and a 2Ds with Pokémon I was so happy about it I couldn't stop playing it, I also got some money which I was going to save and and add to my savings
CRASH
I look outside my window and see my parents arguing my dad obviously something on the floor I was sacred,
MELs POV
I hear a crash and immediately go to my brothers room I see him crying I sit down next to him and hug him tight "it's going to be alright shhh" I whisper, I can here his breathing slow down, he doesn't need this in his life I think to my self. I can see he's fallen asleep so I go to the garage I can see there still arguing "MY FUCKING GOD YOU HAVE A SON IN THERE WHO IS BALLING HIS EYES OUT, YOU NEED TO ACT LIKE PARENTS AND NOT LIKE IDIOTS" I yell I can see that they are worried. " no need to worry he's sleeping so go sort it out when he's not around" I go back inside and fall asleep.
Time skip

My farther has left my family, he left without a trace just packed up and left we found out he was doing drugs and cheating on my mother. My mother is not coping well she is really stressed out and she's drinking a lot she's always been an alcoholic but it's gotten worse I'm home alone with her most times she fainted a couple times so I've had to pick her up and drag her to her bed so she's not stuck outside I keep doing the dishes to keep my self busy while she's in bed life's getting harder and harder. The rent is to expensive and we are still living here I wonder how, my uncle has been helping us which I have been eternally great full, the school has been really helpful so I'm really grateful I've been seeing a counselor which I don't need but I do to make my mother happy. My older sister has just asked me to go to cobram with her, her friends and her boyfriend which I all know so I think it will be a good distraction.
Little did he know this is where he makes the biggest mistake of his life and the worst one
