"Attention Crew. We have sustained severe Orbital Hull damage. Abandon ship immediately."

I was not expecting this. In fact, I don't think anyone else was expecting this as well. I happened to board the Capital Class ship, the Aurora. We were on a mission to the Ariadne Arm in the Unknown Region of the Milky Way, to install a phasegate. But we weren't here for just this. Five years ago, a Mongolian Starship from Mongolian Controlled space called the Degasi, crash landed on the planet below, and we are going to be joining them soon.

"Launching in three, two, one". The Lifepod shoots from the hull of the Aurora. Shaking uncontrollably. I look up into the roof hatch, trying to contemplate how we got shot down. Was it the same weapon that the Degasi reported before crash landing? I'm guessing so, as a green beam of light enters the Drive room of the Aurora, ripping the shields into pieces, then exploding parts of the hull out into space.

Uncontrollable, and unearthly sounds erupt from the panel next to the Fabricator. POP, the panel is ejected along with the Extinguisher. They are flying around in the cabin like an earthquake. Ever felt or been punched in the face before? Try having a panel smash you in the face, while plummeting at Mach thirty to the surface of an unknown planet.
