"Humans wish on stars that will not grant them any wish. Why do they do it then? Because they want to hold onto a hope that might grant their wish"

Dorian's POV
It has been exactly 1 week from December the 18th and as far as I knew, Aubryn was doing great in all her classes. Even Business M/A . With my notes, she studied them day and night and surprisingly she had an A+ in Mr. Penhallow's course. Today was December 24, and Aubryn had left a note on my dorm room that said to meet her at 11:55 at the deck that was in between the Boy and Girl Cabins.

There was suppose to be a Bonfire tonight, but Aubryn decided to skip this one and go to the deck. Right now it was 8:00pm and everyone in camp was making their way to the Big House for a Bonfire announcement. I wonder what they're announcing. Maybe it's important. I made my way to the bonfire,  catching no glimpse of the little red headed girl. She told me to meet her at 11, but now that it was 8, what could be holding her away?
I took a seat near one of my friends, Santiago Rosales. He was my age, with  tan skin, gray eyes and chocolate brown hair. To my right, Ethan, Aubryn' s partner in every class, sat next to me. His green eyes in comparison to the orange light of the bonfire made him look like he was hiding something.

Before I could ask him what was wrong, Mr. Hallows, the director, interrupted with," Hello ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, my name is William Hallows and I am the director of Camp Ace. It's an honor to have you all here. Every single one of you has individual talent and are here to learn more about it. Some of you are here because you may be the heir to your family's company and are here to prepare for it. Others are here to find their talents and use them for good. 1st semester is over and I would like to congratulate each and one of you for maintaining your averages to what is expected from you. This bonfire tonight is dedicated to the boys and girl who gave their commitment to their courses and managed to be on top of their class.
Here are the top 10 boy ranks out of 30, starting from 10.
#10 Tony Walsh, congratulations.
#9 Raphael Rosales, congratulations.
#8 Brandon Anderson, congratulations.
#7  Xander Beckham,  congratulations.
#6 Sam Caruthers, congratulations.
And now for the spectacular boys who made it to top 5.
#5 Antonio Rosales , congratulations.
#4 Santiago Rosales, congratulations.
Now everyone round of applause to top 3 students.
#3 Ethan Moore, congratulations.
#2 Krey Williams, congratulations.
And finally the valedictorian for this semester is Dorian Cray!
Give a round of applause for these rising scholars!!! Now I'll hand it over to my wife, Patricia Hallows to announce the top 10 girl ranks."

Wow I was valedictorian. Couldn't have said it any louder... now I'll have to watch my back because I know top 10 will want to get rid of me somehow. Now I awaited the top 10 girl ranks. When Mrs. Hallows started speaking some of my guy friends began to congratulate me and pat me in the back. It was so ironic that I was sitting with #3 and #4. I congratulated them and turned my attention to Mrs. Hallows, who was already announcing top 5.
" #5 Cristina Rosales, congratulations dear. #4 Elizabeth Stewart, congratulations sugar. And now for top 3; #3 Audrey Blake, congratulations dear. #2 Lilane Williams, congratulations sweetie.
And finally the Valedictorian for this semester is Aubryn Strong! Give a round of applause to these rising scholars!!!"

Wow I couldn't believe it, Aubryn made it!!! I'm so happy for her. I tried to look around for her, but had forgotten she was not here.  They started dismissing people and I made my way to the decks.

Aubryn' s POV
My hands were cold as I desperately waited for Dorian to come. I watched the dark night sky being illuminated by bright colorful stars. The view was perfect. One I could never imagine seeing in person. Tomorrow was Christmas, and I couldn't wait to celebrate it with Dorian. I heard footsteps coming towards the deck. I took one last look at the clock that read 11:59. Just in time.

Dorian's POV

I made it to the deck when my eyes caught the familiar red hair I'm used to seeing, and my nose caught the familiar smell of strawberries. I couldn't help but smile when I saw her. She smiled back, and that's when I noticed she was hiding something behind her back. My smile started to diminish. She brought out her hands only to reveal a cupcake lit up by one candle.
"Happy Birthday, Dorian! Didn't think I would know?" She said smiling.
I felt my heart stop. For a second at least. A grin grew in my face and I made my way to embrace her.

"Thank you! Thank you so much Aubryn," I said as I hugged her, while she hugged me back.

I couldn't love her even more than I did at this moment as the stars reflected upon her green eyes that had me so captivated.

Hey guys! I know I haven't updated since forever, but I finally had time to!!! Yay!!! Make sure to leave a comment and star it!
