OK, This is a very intense chapter. And quite long!! I cried writing it. I cried reading it. I cried editing it and I just cried during my last edits before posting. Because of the content and what happens... Parental Guidance please. I don't want to give too much away, but Grace it attacked. Please understand that people are attacked every day. I am not taking that lightly. This is very serious. So, if you believe that you can not handle reading the attack then stop reading. Please. For those of you that can handle it... hang on. It only gets better!!.

Oh and one thing I forgot to say before chapter 1. I originally wanted to write this as two people journaling. But then decided to write in Grace's POV and then at the end of each chapter is Jakes POV through his Journal. I personally do not like books that jump from various characters POV, so this is how I got both in the story, but staying true to my preference.

Chapter 2

Psalms 23: 4 - Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

Sunday morning, I had had a dream about that guy. Not John, but that guy in the restaurant. I was walking on the beach and a huge wave came and covered me, knocking me out to sea. I was being pulled under and the waves were beating me and throwing me down to the sand. My body was hurting from the scrapes and crashes, and I could not breath. I tried. But I was drowning. Out from no where, he came swimming fast looking for me. Trying to find me...and pull me to safety. Then I woke up.

Sunday mornings was a ritual in my house. My mom had never been very religious when she was my age, it was my dad who brought her to this church and where they eventually got married. But, after he died, she told me that she almost gave up and did not want to come to church anymore, that God had taken her life and her love away. Then just before I was born the pastor and his wife visited her to see how she was doing. She realized then that God did not take my dad, it was the drunk driver who did that and that she could not blame God. Because God had given her a piece of my dad...me growing in her womb!

After church, the Gilcrest's had invited us to their house for lunch and swimming. Hope and I had a lot to talk about, our double date last night and my pending date with John. Not to mention my dream last night about that unknown guy that had continued to pop in my head since I noticed him in the restaurant.

"So tell me everything!" Hope hurriedly said as we closed the door to her room after lunch. I don't think she knew exactly what she was asking for, because she had no idea of the visitor that kept creeping into my mind.

"Where do you want me to start?"

"Last night of course! How does John kiss? What exactly did he say as he walked you to the door?" We never kept secrets, so I told her what she wanted to hear.

"John is nice, his kiss was gentle, and sweet. He asked me to go out on Friday and said we would be alone. I don't know how it will go and honestly, I was nervous until he kissed me. Neither one of us are talkers and I can just imagine us sitting there all night on our date not saying anything...boring!" I am not sure where this might go, but I am trying for Hope and Tim and maybe even me a little. I mean, I am a plain, normal girl...not attractive like Hope. Brown hair, brown eyes, under developed in a lot of areas my friends have already developed. I mean, I am not flat...and boy like...but I don't have a lot working for me there. I was quiet and always did the right thing. Hope on the other hand was blonde, blue eyes and everything that a guy wants in a girlfriend. Outgoing, popular and smart. She knew what to say to set anyone at ease and she always got what she wanted. But, she is so much more than that...she is my best friend and a sister to me.
