Ed was playing again, and in the dim room, he was glad that any tears he subconsciously shed would be hidden.

"Fall,"

His voice was rough with that first word, making it sound almost angry. He regained control of his voice a moment later with the next few words.

"Now the dark begins to rise
Save your breath, it's far from over
Leave the lost and dead behind
Now's your chance to run for cover," Ed was disheveled, his clothes messed up and his hair in a braid that was falling out, strand by strand.

"I don't wanna change the world
I just wanna leave it colder
Light the fuse and burn it up
Take the path that leads to nowhere.

"All is lost again
But I'm not giving in." He never would, no matter how things looked at any given time.

"I will not bow,
I will not break,
I will shut the world away.
I will not fall,
I will not fade,
I will take your breath away."

A crystalline tear slid down his face.

"Fall
Watch the end through dying eyes,
Now the dark is taking over
Show me where forever dies
Take the fall and run to Heaven

"All is lost again
But I'm not giving in

"I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

"And I'll survive, paranoid
I have lost the will to change
And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fake
I will shut the world away

"I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

"And I'll survive; paranoid
I have lost the will to change
And I'm not proud, cold-blooded fake
I will shut the world away

"Fall."

The guitar was set down with a gentle thud on the ground next to his bed. In the dim lighting of his room, Edward fell backwards onto his bed. With a soft sigh and a grumble at his own weakness, he wiped the tears from his eyes and crawled under his blankets, unmindful of the fact that it was currently midsummer and around ninety degrees outside.

He just needed to sleep. Just for a bit.

Then he would get up, and shower, and everything would be all right. He could get on with everything he had to do, and his idiotic emotions wouldn't hold him back.

But for now, he had to sleep.

He was too tired currently to keep playing.

Really not all that good but I figured you guys who read this had waited long enough. I'll try to make the next one better whenever I get around to writing it.
