Yes, you can fall in love with someone you have never met. However, it isn't the same as being in love with someone you know in real life. People on the internet can pretend to be anyone they want to be. People who you IM can be the complete opposite of who they tell you they are. If you meet someone in real life you know who they are. It's so much easier knowing if someone you're actually talking to is lying than someone you only text or IM.
