The night started out like every cliche' teen movie did, with the boy knocking at the girl's window, only, it was the wrong window.  Samantha heard the shriek of her next door neighbor, who had woken up to see a seventeen-year-old boy staring into her bedroom window.  It being almost one in the morning did not help matters.

Samantha couldn't help but laugh at the situation, though she ought not to.  If she were Isaiah in that moment, she'd probably be so mortified, she would never leave the house again.  That thought helped control her laughter, only to have it start up again when she looked out the window to see Isaiah begging Ms. Sinlex to not call the police again.  Samantha thought he would have learned the first time.

This night was not going the way Samantha thought it would.

Much to Sam's relief, and definitely Isaiah's, Ms. Sinlex decided to not call the cops, but left a warning for next time; because there would be a next time.

Suddenly, Isaiah's face popped up and he knocked on the right window.  Sam opened up the window to let him in and laughed as he plopped onto the bed like a slinky going down the stairs.  Despite it being almost pitch black in her room, she could tell that even under his darker skin tone, Isaiah was red with embarrassment.  In his defence, who wouldn't be?

"I can't believe that happened again," Isaiah sighed.

"I can," she laid down on the bed next to him.  "My house an Ms. Sinlex's house look very similar."

"Still."  Isaiah sat up and looked down at Sam.  "We've been friends for years and every time I do this, I mess up our night plans.  You were so excited about watching the meteor shower tonight."

"It's alright," despite it being dark, Samantha knew that Isaiah could see her smile. "I just wanted to spend time with you. We can look at the stars on the ceiling."

While any normal person would be dishearten at the situation, Sam was not. She was happy just spending time with her friend. It was enough.
