Legacy of Lies

Prologue

I was just sleeping like a baby when I felt someone tugging on my arm,surprised I sat up from my bed and saw who it was."Nora don't scare me like that!"It was my cousin Nora.She was holding a flashlight in one hand,Nora was twelve years old and even though she was one year older than me,she still slept with stuffed animals."Sorry but I couldn't find my stuffed bunny"she sounded sad,we stood there for a few seconds,I sighed,"ok fine let's go find it." I said at last,So we were about to go when suddenly,we heard a the dock bell rang,the bell was meant for when someone was in danger in the lake that was behind the house,once we heard it we burst out running outside and seeing my aunt Megan running as well,I also saw my cousin Ashley.there in the lake.drowing.then out of the corner of my eye I saw my closet friend Ed running towards me."what's happening I heard the bell-" before he finished he then turned to the lake and and started running down the hill.As I was making my way down I stepped on a piece of glass and I started bleeding,ad I lay on the ground my other cousin Gregory helped me,but then I noticed something.he was wearing his sneakers,he was probably having his nightly run,but it was around 1 in the morning and he was also wearing his joggers and a sweatshirt but I ignored it.Once he was done helping me we both ran down the hill to the dock and all of us,my aunt,Ed, Gregory and me saw Nora clutching on her stuffed bunny,staring in horror as we just stood there frozen as out dear cousin,sister,girlfriend and daughter disappear into the dar,cold water.People say it was a tragic accident but what I remember was just the sound of an ambulance and then darkness.
