As a therapist, I often ask clients the question, "Who are you?" The answer I receive is quite simple, "I am [insert name here]." So let's dig deeper, "I did not ask for your name, I asked who are you?"
This is not an easy question and I struggled with this question most of my life; in fact, I still do. I would catch myself thinking, "what is my purpose?" "why am I here?" and "who am I?" These are not easy questions to answer, and these questions lead to a journey of self-discovery and spiritual growth.
We are who we are because of our past ancestors, Carl Jung called this the collective unconscious. Generations are guiding our every move speaking to us as wise old men and women, whispering in our ears telling us the story to help us discover our meaning in this world. Are we listening and taking the advice that came before us. Are we willing to follow that inner instinct and follow the path the past paved for us? Are we willing to journey into the past to discover the answer to the question we all want to know, "who am I?"
This book is about the questions I asked and the journey I took to find the answers, which change me emotionally, spiritually, and psychologically. I discovered who I am.
