He wakes up to his mother, shaking his shoulder. "Miguel, wake up. School. Your first day of 5th grade!" She soured with excitement. But Miguel had different feelings. He hated having to move to another area, and another school. Just because moms sister had to move hospitals. Though, of course Miguel got up. His head hurt from staying up all night listening to the loud and terrifying sounds of the night. He had no window in the little room he shared with his mother, just a gap. Mom put up a tarp, and shut it with duck tape. "Miguel, go get take a shower and then put on those clothes I lauded out for you on the bed. Thank you."
She pointed down the hall to the bathroom. He stepped out of the room and opened the bathroom door. It wasn't a bad bathroom, it was decent. He took off his pajamas and stepped in. His mother came in and turned on the water for him. "Mom, I can do it myself."
He said to her, not rudely but very annoyed.
"Sorry honey, I just don't like you growing up so fast!" She said excitedly.

Miguel ignored her and scrubbed his hair. He got out of the shower about 10 minutes later. He grabbed a towel and walked back into his and his mothers room. He grabbed his clothes and got dressed. He put on a pair of nice jeans, a t-shirt that had the Nike logo on it, and a pair of gray Converse. His mother came in with Bacon and Eggs. She handed it to him, then had him sit on the bed. She sat behind him as he ate, combing his hair.

He finished and set the plate to the side of him. His mother finished combing his hair, then handed him his backpack. "Have a wonderful day at school honey. Your going to do great!"
Miguel shrugged and smiled. His mom kissed his cheek and then pushed him out the door.
He started walking, then his mother came running up and gave him a great big hug.
"I'm going to walk with you, k?" She said.
"Oh, Kay.." Miguel agreed politely.

They finally made it to the school. Miguel's mother walked with him until they reached his class. "I'm okay now mom, thanks." He walked into his class, ignoring his mom yelling "HAVE A GOOD DAY HONNEY!!"

He came in, and sat down at a desk that had a big name tag reading: "Miguel Warden".
There was a kid already sitting down next to him. Her name tag reading: "Bya Lacash".
She smiled at him, then put her hand out.
"I'm Bya. What's your name?"
