Aysu

Aysu ran through the forest giggling as she went. Her long red mane, a color her hair had never been before this life, flew out behind her. The sprites she had befriended tried not to get caught up in the wild mane. They laughed and cried out sounds of joy until Aysu stopped dead in her tracks, something dark was nearby. She surveyed the foliage around her, searching for the cause of the disturbance in the peace. She spotted him then.

A man half a foot taller than her stood twenty feet away. Long silky blonde hair lay across his shoulders and down his back under a tall crown upon his head. Lean muscles hidden by the armor he wore. He had chosen his hair color in honor of her though she was not aware of this.

She glared at him when he caught sight of her. Aysu remembered him, she had seen him before a couple other times. She didn't like him, being near him left goosebumps on her skin and shivers ran down her spine. She had asked, no demanded, that he left her alone. But he couldn't. She was his everything, he had to make sure she was safe and happy. He couldn't bear to lose her again like he had so many times before.

"Wyn" he called out to her, his voice almost a whisper tinged with sadness.

"Why do you call me such when that is not my name?" she responded

The man sighed and shook his head  "It was at one time"

"I've already told you, I don't know who you are nor have I ever known you. Why must you follow me?"

"I must make sure you stay safe"

Aysu scrunched her face raising her hand to smack right across the face. The man flinched having not expected her to strike him but it only lasted a second. He reached out and grabbed her small wrist in his giant hand.

"You will not strike me again do you hear me?" he growled tightening his grip

Her eyes flashed with pain and a little fear when she looked up into his dark eyes. He let go immediately giving her the chance to back away from him, an opportunity she took.

"I'm sorry," he pleaded looking remorseful "I didn't mean to hurt you"

She shook her head, tears beginning to form in her eyes.

"Don't ever come near me again" she spoke choking on the tears. Aysu whipped around and ran from him never looking back. The man watched her retreating figure solemnly.
