I come from an enemy region and I despise it I wish there was another word for hate despise, loath, hate and on and on... Don't really provide a strong enough description for the feelings I feel. I hear people of the other regions outside these massive walls talking about Lords and Irene and the shadows. I don't know much about the shadows but I prefer not to think about it. I tell my friend Ariana about such things but she scoffs and things like, "You shouldn't be listening to the Outsiders it's against the rules blah blah blah..."or "that's rubbish there making it up it's fake there's no such thing as the shadows hurting us".
I want to leave.... I can leave but I would make my way on King Rayan's Death List. I every now and then think about my past... I don't understand why it just flashes unpleasant memories about war and death and a face a tan feminine face with brown eyes and black hair with pale skin. I have a picture of her in my journal I've had my journal for 15 years I'm currently 15. So yeah I've had the journal since birth. Ariana said that she gave me that journal I am so thankful to have a friend like Ariana I don't know what I'd do without that journal...
I told Ariana about the flashbacks and she tells me to ignore them an they'll go away. So I started doing it, once I start ignoring I start getting migraines and then they stop. Wow I wish I was as intelligent as Ariana!
It's currently midnight Ariana said I should sleep but I can't I have insomnia. I suddenly heard something out side I checked out the window I saw a dragon like creature with a man with blonde hair fly over I caught a glimpse of his eyes they were so blue! Was he one of the handsome men I hear about.
They're names were strange but I caught on and remembered them because I wrote them down.
There was....
Garroth
Laurence
Zane
Zenix... he out of all these names was the most talked about saying how beautiful his eyes were and his brown flowing hair and his large... I'd rather not say which is rude and unprofessional. In Tu'La we cannot use such descriptions on men it is rude and not needed. proper words must be used for it is against the laws.
"Lily why are you still awake? You will be tired in the morning and you will be weak!", Ariana said tiredly.
"sorry Ariana I will go to bed immediately", I said in response.
"I accept your apology...", she fell back asleep and snored in the usual pattern. I never expected change but I didn't mind it...
the next day.....
"Wake up wake up!", Ariana shook me to wake up.
"Yes?", I said drowsily.
"It's princess Ivory's coordination", Ariana said excitedly as she ran to our best dresses.
"And...", I said unamused.
"Prince Roy will be there!", she swooned I need a new dress.
Princess Ivory is King Rayan and Queen Victoria's offspring she is as demanding as her father and as greedy and self absorbed as her mother.
This is gonna be great....
"Prince Roy is betrothed to princess Ivory? Have you no shame trying to flirt with her fiancé?!", I said in disbelief even though I wasn't shocked everyone in Tu'La was practically assigned to their partners.
Ariana was assigned to Max a talk man with no respect for women and has dark brown eyes similar to my poster.
I was assigned to Mason a noble or blue blood as we like to call them precision of language is important.
Mason was dirty blonde and kind too kind I don't trust him as most of the Tu'La women would be more and happy to be assigned to him!
I would rather pick my soul mate but little did I know I already saw him.
Ariana and I decided that it would be a good Idea to go and take a soothing bath to relax our selves.
I walked into the baby pink tub and sighed as I removed the towel and sunk in it was nice I could stay there for hour if possible but I knew thirty minutes was enough and I had to get going and into my new tailored dress.
Two hours Later Lily and Ariana are at the ball and they are in they're tailored dresses....
Ariana and I walked through the ball our dresses were gorgeous and people agreed because men's jaws dropped as they saw us walk gracefully.
I danced with Mason for a while and told him I was going to get a drink of water. He insisted he'd get me water. As a woman should I obeyed my future husband... that law always made me cringe I think I could take care of my self.
Mason was gone for a full fifteen minutes I grew weary and couldn't stand and wait any longer I turned to the drink table and I saw an unfamiliar face a man with blonde—- the same man I saw the other day on the creature I walked over normally trying to seem unsuspicious.
"Hello sir", I said kindly.
"Hello", he said with a deep British accent then I knew immediately he was an outsider.
"Shh.. don't talk so loud follow me" I said I knew I was breaking the rules but I couldn't let a man like him get killed because of his accent!
He followed me out the palace we didn't see anyone watching as we left for it was against the rules to leave a royal establishment.
"Your going to get caught" I said "they're going to kill you....".
"Your going to turn me in!?" he grabbed a sword.
"No I promise- I swear! I want to help you, your accent will give you away!", I said pleading.
"Okay won't they kill you for telling me?", he asked.
"I don't know I don't think anyone saw", I said.
"Oh I saw", said Mason disappointed, "your assigned to me not him I will turn him in!", he said furiously.
"Mason no! You don't understand!", I said trying to knock some sense into him.
"I don't care GAURDS!", he yelled and place guards came at us.
"Run I'll hold them off", he said.
"No...", I said, "wait...", they came closer towards us and sprinted at us and I pulled the mans arm and sprinted to the gates.
"We have to leave!?", I said shocked.
"No duh!", Said the man and he blowed a whistle and a dragon like creature swooped down.
"Hold on!", Said the man I obeyed and held his waist and put my face against his back and closed my eyes.
I felt wind blow against my face.
"By the way I'm Garroth!", he said smiling, "and we're headed to Phoenix Drop"
